Chapter 10

"Vision of the Spiritual War- Latter Days."

The time that Daniel wrote the tenth chapter was two years after the prayer and vision of the seventy weeks of the desolation vision, from Daniel 9.

Daniel 10:1 "In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision."

Daniel is telling us that he only understood the first part of the vision.

Daniel 10:2 "In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks."

Daniel 10:3 "I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled."

Daniel 10:4 "And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;"

This date of Daniel's vision was the 24th of the first month, Nisan, of the Jewish year. This is the Passover time. The Hiddekel River is the Tigris River, running through Iraq. This is the area of the Iraq-Iran war, and "The Desert Storm" war.

Daniel 10:5 "Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in lined, whose loins were girded with fine hold of Uphaz:"

The appearance of this man approaching Daniel, makes us believe that he is divine and angelic.

Daniel 10:6 "His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude."

This angel had a strong voice, and we have a mighty one coming to Daniel's aid.

Daniel 10:7 "And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves."

Though Daniel was the only one who saw the vision, the men that were with Daniel sure felt the presence. They ran to hide because they were afraid.

Daniel 10:8 "Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me unto corruption, and I retained no strength."

Many people say quite passively, "Well, I talked to God today, and He told me..." Friend, when God our Heavenly Father approaches you, there is nothing casual about it.

Daniel 10:9 "Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of this words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground."

Daniel could not bear to look upon the presence of God.

Daniel 10:10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands."

When God touched him, strength returned to his body, and he came to his hands and knees.

Daniel 10:11 "And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling."

Daniel is told to stand up and act like a man. Daniel stood, alright, only he was trembling.

Daniel 10:12 "Then said he unto me, Fear not Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words."

This is the message that the mighty one gave to Daniel. Daniel is told that from the very first day he started to pray, God heard him pray. When you do not rely on that it is a lack of faith. At times there are reasons the words or answers to those prayers are not acted upon immediately. Many times the inaction is for your own benefit.

Daniel 10:13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."

Do you know what kind of war this was? The prince of Persia is also called the prince of this earth. He also has many other names in the scriptures, such as the serpent, Lucifer, the great dragon, and king of Tyre; he is Satan, and shortly be know as the Antichrist.

The angel that holds Satan even now in heaven is Michael, as written of in Revelation 12:7: "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,".

This war is going on right now, and will be over shortly. Michael will win. Then we will see Satan on earth, However, most will think he is Jesus Christ.

Daniel 10:14 "Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy People in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days."

When he loses his battle in heaven, we will see him here on earth. That instant you will be sealed in your mind that the first Christ is the fake, or you will bow to Satan. That is why you do not bow to any angelic form you believe to be Jesus Christ, while in your flesh body.

I Corinthians 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

I Corinthians 15:51 "Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed."

I Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

These verses let us know what the mystery is that Paul is relating to us. That mystery is the fact that at the seventh trumpet, all flesh will be changed into their spiritual bodies, and then this flesh age is over. This starts the kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth, and no flesh and blood will exist in that kingdom. That will end the Antichrist's reign on earth, However, Satan's evil spirit is present on earth today.

Daniel 10:15 "And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb."

This mighty one told Daniel that he came to help Daniel understand exactly what would happen to "thy" people. "Thy people" are God's people. He is trying to prepare you mentally for what we will be seeing and going through in this last generation. Daniel is told the vision is not to come to pass for many days [years]. In fact, not until the "latter days". This latter day battle then will be a spiritual battle.

Daniel 10:16 "And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength."

This spiritual battle requires spiritual armor. That armor has to be in place, and within your mind, upon Satan's arrival to earth. Ephesians 6:10-20 list all of the armor and what it protects. This final war is not with bullets and guns, but with words, ideas, concepts, and precepts. These take form in doctrines, and the battleground is in your mind.

These are spiritual principalities, and powers, and darkness. Think about it; for if it started tomorrow, how would you stand? What is your protection? This is why the mighty one came to Daniel, to let you know it is coming, and we had all better be prepared for this spiritual warfare. This war has been shortened so that the elect of God could be saved. This is recorded in Revelation 9:5, 10.

Is it any wonder that Daniel became stunned over this vision, for he was given a glimpse of the spiritual battle that you and I will see very shortly.

When we stand before the wicked one, the Antichrist, when he appears on earth, we are told to hold our tongue, for it will be only the Holy Spirit who will speak through you, as recorded in Mark 13:11.

David wrote in Psalm 39:1-10, that in the presence of the wicked and evil, we are to bridle our mouths, and only speak as lead by the Lord. Friend, when God leads, He will give the words to say. And when that happens, your vanity better not stand in the way, for it will be God speaking through us.

Daniel 10:17 "For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me."

Keep in mind that this chapter is about a spiritual war taking place in the final generation, the "latter days". The presence of the supernatural is an awesome thing. That is why the gospel armor is important. Know it and use it.

Daniel 10:18 "Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,"

The word "strengthened" in the Hebrew means "strengthened for endurance", from the Hebrew word "hazak".

Daniel 10:19 "And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

"Greatly beloved" is Daniel. Here it is again, "hazak", Daniel is strengthened for a time of battle.

Daniel 10:20 "Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come."

Daniel didn't know where the mighty angel came from, or where he went. We know historically that the prince of Grecia that came was "Alexander the Great". History also bears out that from this verse, to Daniel 11:20, the dividing of the Grecian Empire into four empires is true and accurate. With the four kings being the four generals of Alexander's army. When the empire split, the cause was the death of 21 year old Alexander, whose great wisdom came from Aristotle, the private teacher who drilled into his young head the humanistic frame of mind we call normal today.

The historical part of Daniel 10:20 to 11:20 is recorded in many other books, However, because Daniel is told that this vision is for the latter days, it becomes an example, or type of what we can expect in a spiritual, or religious battle for our generation. In the eleventh chapter we will take matters referring to "her, or "she" as a religious order for the area of that battle. The spiritual battle in the "latter days" will be from Jerusalem, and the Middle East; and that religion is known as "Islam".

Daniel 10:21 "But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things but Michael your prince."

When we go back to verses one and fourteen, we see the subject of Daniel 10 is carried over into chapter eleven, and that subject is Daniel's dream or vision of a spiritual war that would occur in the latter days [verse fourteen]. This is why I will attempt to apply it as an example, or similarity to what already has happened in our recent past.

What is important to us today is that we use Daniel to prepare us for a spiritual battle that will use words like love, brotherhood, humanism, sharing, caring, and on and on, to attack the Christian's soul. The war of "pass the ammo" is going to be over, and all we will know is the one worldism being taught, and as such.

This is why it is a war of minds, words, and deceptions. Using Satan's most powerful tool; half truths, and twisting of the word of God. We must keep our mental guard up.
