In Joshua 9, the children of Israel took in and provided for some strangers without taking counsel with the Lord first. These strangers turned out to be a pack of liars that lived right down the road, and neighbors to them. These people, the Gibeonites, of the Hivites were one of the six nations that God told Joshua to destroy, but in the process of feeling sorry for these strangers, Joshua and the Elders of Israel bought their lies, and made a league with them for their protection. When Joshua and the elders saw what they had done, they forced these people to be the workman in the house of the Lord, cutting wood, and carrying the water, which is teaching the people of the things of God. This was a mistake for we saw where in time they virtually took over the duties of the Levitical scribes and priests. In other words they took control of the house of God.

So the children of Israel have entered into the promise land, and in the first two moves after Jericho, they lost focus, and started to rely on their own imaginations. The forgot to consult with God on important matter, and things are not going well with them. Now in this Jericho 10, the comparison is to that of a type of Hamon-gog of Ezekiel 38, 39, and Satan going into the pit the first day of the Millennium age when Jesus Christ has returned here on earth with us. We will see victory after victory, as God gives it to His people, as they allow God to be in control.

Joshua 10:1 "Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had now to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;"

"Adoni-zedec" means "God-king". This king god is not our God, and he was king of Jerusalem when it was still under the control of the Jebusites. King Adoni-zedec heard how the people of Gibeon had lied to the people of Israel and through deception made peace with the Gibeonites. He also heard how with the help of God, Jericho was completely destroyed, and the people of Ai were tricked out of their city, and it was burnt to the ground. Remember that agreement that was made between Joshua and the Gibeonites was made without the counsel of God. After Joshua found out that he had been lied to and tricked, he sent the Gibeonites to the church house to help the priests cut the wood, and haul the water. Because the priests became lazy, they allowed the Nethinim Gibeonites to take over the priestly duties completely.

Remember also that there were also stains of Nephilim mixed amongst the Gibeonites and the Perizzites. However many of the Gibeonites were related by marriage to the Edomites, which were the offspring of Esau, the twin brother of Jacob. Of course Esau plays a great part in the prophecy of the end time battle of Hamon-gog. This is brought up because it will play a role in the study of this chapter.

Joshua 10:2 "And they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty."

Remember that mixed in with these Gibeon in the past were the giants, the Naphilim or offspring of the fallen angels, and they were considered mighty warriors. This king Adoni-zedec heard how Gibeon gave up without a fight, however in truth, they lied and deceived Israel into a peace agreement.

Joshua 10:3 "Wherefore Adoni-zedec king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,"

Adoni-zedec wanted each of these kings to come together to form an single force to go up against Israel and Gibeon. This message went out from Jerusalem to each of these kings.

Joshua 10:4 "Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel."

These Jebusites did not want to go against Israel, but against Gibeon. Adoni-zedec felt that these Gibeonites had betrayed them in their alliance with Israel. Prior to the time of the deception by these Gibeonites they were allies with these Jebusites, and the other five nations in Joshua 9:1. However someone amongst these Gibeonites, also related to Esau, knew that God was in control and fulfilling the promises given to Abraham. They knew that without a peace agreement, they would be destroyed as the children of Israel came to claim their land.

Joshua 10:5 "Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it."

All the armies of these five nations of the Amorites, joined with the five other kings to form a united army for the sake of going against the Gibeonites. No one likes a traitor, and that is exactly what Gibeon was. All these kings came to hate Gibeon more than Israel, and they wanted to destroy the Gibeonites. The Gibeonites turned against the cause of these nations, and they lost the respect and became an enemy of their own people.

Joshua 10:6 "And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, "Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us."

The message to Joshua and the men of Israel was, come quickly and save us; Help us; for the enemy from the mountains is gather together at our gates. The Gibeonites knew that they didn't have a chance against those kings of the Amorites, for they were friends at one time. They knew each other very well.

Remember that this period of time is symbolic of the Millennium age of the end times; and just as these men of Gibeon wanted to be saved, so also many that are lost from Esau or Russia of today, will be saved out of the Millennium age. These people are asking Joshua [Hebrew for English word of Jesus] to come and save us. So this becomes an analogy for an event that is still in the future to us living today. Sure Joshua knows that these people lied to him once, will he come and honor the agreement or allow these Amorites to destroy this pack of liars. Remember that the Edomites were mixed in and amongst these Gibeonites. God has a very important role for the Edomites, or Russians to play in end time prophecy, so they could not be destroyed completely, as we read in the book of Ezekiel. Sure, there are many Christians in Russia today, but this is another subject.

Joshua 10:7 "So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour."

Joshua 10:8 "And the Lord said unto Joshua, "Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand: there shall not a man of them stand before thee."

By this time Joshua has come to understand that you don't make a move without talking to God first. God here is telling Joshua that the victory will be given into his hand. Today we seek counsel with the Father through His Word, in prayer, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. It takes an understanding of the Word before you can understand God the way He is leading you. There are many types and idioms in the Word, and His Spirit is going to have a hard time conveying His message to you, without some understanding on your part of the Word.

Joshua 10:9 "Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night."

As you read through these different wars, note that there are no giants in the land. Israel moved quickly to pass through the night to arrive at Gibeon by morning. This quick response completely surprised the Amorite kings.

Joshua 10:10 "And the Lord discomfited them before Israel; and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah."

Did Joshua slay these people before the Gibeonites? No, the Lord slew them with a great slaughter, and chased them away from Gibeon. This "Makkedah" in the Hebrew text means the "Place of shepherds". Rulers are suppose to be shepherds for their people. So lets see what kind of shepherds these kings of the Amorites are.

Joshua 10:11 "And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword."

As these Amorites were fleeing to "Beth-horon", meaning the house of the pits, the Lord raining down great stones from heaven upon them. Remember Ezekiel 38:22, when the Edomites, called Gog in the end times or Russia and her allies were coming against true Israel, the the Lord also rained down great stones against them. "And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone." We are reading of types of what shall be in the time of the end, when God will protect His people. Those hailstones that God will rained down on Gog, Russia and her allies, will weight all the way from one hundred pounds to one hundred eighty pounds. God created this universe and He can use His creation in any manner He chooses.

Ezekiel 38:22 "Thus will I magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nation, and they shall know that I am the Lord.' ' " God is going to give Gog a place for burial in the valley of Hamon-gog, in what we know today as Alaska as Russia and all her allies move to come against the true Israel nations. this will mark the end of this earth age of flesh man, as we move into the Millennium age of our Lord's kingdom right here on earth. Again, these wars and events are types, examples for us living in the end generation of this earth age. When we move into the Millennium age, the evil ones will also be cast into the pit, and held until the end of the thousand years when they will then be brought out for judgment, and destruction in the lake of fire.

Joshua 10:12 "Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, "Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; And thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon."

This is what Joshua said to all Israel publicly. Joshua told the sun to stand still over Gibeon to extend the day, and for the moon, to hold its position in the heavens until the battle against the Amorites was over. To believe that this event happened you have to believe that our Lord has complete control over the universe that He created. That takes faith. Joshua is asking God to extend the day to where there would be no night and the battle could continue until the enemy was completely destroyed.

We are living in a high tech generation, and computers can plan the course of heavenly bodies far into the future, or plot their travels in past times. This delay of the sun would be for about forty minutes, for it would cause the earth to reverse itself ten degrees, which would be forty minutes. But in reality to those on the earth it would give make the daylight on earth one solid twenty four hour period of time. It would appear that time stood still, for all time is based on the rotation of the earth and heavenly bodies with respect to the sun. This did happen, and it is written in God's Word, but do you have the faith to believe it.

In our space program there was a problem that was made difficult because the computer numbers just did not add up. The NASA people were trying to find time when a windows in space would be open, whereby certain space vehicles could meet up and join to each other in space. The engineers needed to know the exact times for each vehicle. So to do this they had to reverse the time back to a known point in time, simply to establish the present time. The problem in doing this, was that these computers came up with a missing day. The movement of the heavenly bodies just didn't add up, and until they used the Scriptures to add in for this missed time of Joshua's day, the computers just would not give the data for joining these two space vehicles. The corrections were made, and the program continued.

When proof backing up the written Word of God is presented; people shrug it of and just don't care. Evidence of that first earth age is all over the world, every time a new highway cuts through a hill or mountain, the bones of that first earth age is exposed, and still with bone in hand, people still can not believe that there was an earth age before this age of flesh man. The bones in the hill side, the missing day in the computers, and all the other things that are obvious document that these things talked about in the bible actually happened and are true.

Joshua 10:13 "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, Until the People had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day."

Stop and think for a moment. All the sentences in the entire Scripture concerning Satan are given in month [meaning moons], while all of the sentences concerning God people, the children of light are given in days [dealing with the sun]. The children of Satan and his followers are children of the night, and the children of God are children of light [solar].

I Thessalonians 4:4 - 6 "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." [4] "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [5] "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others but let us watch and be sober." [6]

When you come into the light of the Word, you are never in the darkness as to the events that are going on around us. God wanted us to know the events of our day, and thus He revealed them to us through the prophets, and by types that we are reading of here in Joshua, and the other books to the bible. When you come out of the darkness of this world, that light will shine into your mind, and allow you to watch and be sober, with understanding of those things that are taking place before your eyes. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not want His children of the day to be ignorant of these events of the trumps that are passing into history in our life, and that's why He brought John far into the future, to the day of the Lord, and allowed him to look back and record the events that happening in our everyday life. We call that letter from Jesus the book of Revelation, and it is written to the children of the day, the children of light. "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." The way you come out of that darkness and become aware is to study all the Word with understanding, with Hebrew and Greek dictionary in hand, and a Bible that gives good footnotes, like the Companion Bible, which I'm using here.

We are to study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen that needeth not to be ashamed on that day of the Lord. Satan is coming first, and when you are in the light of His Word, you will not be deceived as Joshua was by these Gibeonites. If you thought that these Gibeonites were deceivers, Satan will use supernatural tricks to make you believe that he is God, and the people of this world age of flesh man will believe him. The children of the light thought, know the truth, and will not be taken in.

One day with God is as a thousand years, and a thousand years with God is as one day. The day of the Lord is a thousand years to man. This is the day that we are looking at here in Joshua, for it marks a full day of twenty four hours of light, when all of God's children will be brought into the light of His love for that full thousand year period called the Millennium age, and they it is over for those children of the night. Sure Satan will be released for a short season, but then the judgment and destruction. these chapters in Joshua are giving us types to follow. Just as the hailstones fell in Joshua's day, they will fall again to close out this time of the end of this earth age. God's Word is factual and true, and we must learn to trust in it in our daily lives. We can't stop the sun from rising, and the moon in the night, but God can and did on this missing day.

"Jasher" means the "upright", and the Scriptures [the Bible] are the book of the Upright. So be careful as to what you read in other books that are identified as the "book of Jasher".

Joshua 10:14 "And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel."

Had there been another time when the days were altered, the computers would have picked them up also. By having a continuous day over Gibeon, it meant that the night had to also be continued by that same period of time.

Joshua 10:15 "And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal."

The battle of this day at Gibeon ended with the enemy running for their lives, and many laying dead on the battle field.

Joshua 10:16 "But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah."

Again, "Makkedah" means the place of shepherds. In this case false shepherds. This is exactly what the children of the night will do also, hid themselves in the came of false shepherds. Five is symbolic of Grace, and these five kings will head right into the pit of the false shepherd, Satan, and try to hide themselves. Remember what was written in Revelation 20:1, 2; "And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand." [1] "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years," [2] Notice that Satan has been identified by the roles he has played, the old serpent from the garden of Eden; the dragon from the first earth age, and so on.

These five kings thought they could hid themselves, but their is no hiding from God, or from Joshua.

Joshua 10:17 "And it was told Joshua, saying, "The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedahg."

Joshua 10:18 "And Joshua said, "Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and st men by it for to keep them:"

Revelation 20:3 "And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."

Just as Joshua would lock those five kings in that cave, God is going to lock in Satan in the pit, and those evil things that would deceive man will be sealed away from sight for that thousand years also. Again, these things that happened in Joshua's day are types of those things that will take place in the end times, and into the Millennium.

Joshua 10:19 "And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them: suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord you God hath delivered them into your hand."

Why would you leave yourself without the protection of the Lord, especially in the generation we are living in? Though it may look at times like the children of the night are getting ahead, they will be struck down and losers at the seventh trump. Just as Joshua pursued after and killed the enemy before they could enter into the gates of their cities, those that put their trust in the Lord will have the victory in the end. As we continue through this book of Joshua, we will see where God gave Joshua one victory after another until the covenant of Abraham of the promise land was fulfilled. This is a type for each of us, that if you will be strong and of good courage, and submit yourself to God and study His Word, your victory will start now and continue right into the eternity.

Joshua 10:20 "And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities."

When this day of slaughter was over, the enemy was destroyed and the children of Israel had complete victory.

Joshua 10:21 "And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel."

With the armies of these Amorites completely destroyed and their kings sealed away in the cave at Makkedah, the people that survived the war were completely defenseless. There wasn't a person in all the nations that would open their mouth to say one word against Joshua and the children of Israel.

Joshua 10:22 "Then said Joshua, "Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave."

Joshua 10:23 "And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon."

This is a error in the translation, for Jerusalem is not called the city of peace, or Jerusalem at this time, for it would be several hundred years from this time of Joshua until David would conquer the city of Jabus and rename it Jerusalem. This king was the king of the Jebusites, and a heathen, as were the other four kings.

Joshua 10:24 "And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, "Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings." And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them."

The weakest point of a man is his neck, and when a man of war gets his foot on your neck, your life is snuffed out. To have a man's neck, it to have complete control of that man's life.

Joshua 10:25 "And Joshua said unto them. "Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight."

This message from Joshua to his fighting men may sound a little course but pay attention. Joshua is telling his soldiers to be strong and of good courage, for this is exactly as the Lord shall do to all of your enemies that you will fight against. Notice that it is the Lord God that shall do it to your enemies. Friend, don't ever get so successful in any thing you do that you forget that it is God that allowed you to have the victory. God is the One that will bless you with what ever prosperity that comes your way. the Lord can give, and the Lord can take away, and when He blesses you, it is because you have bless and given your love to Him. We are not to take credit for any thing that we do with the gifts that God has placed in our hands and minds. God deserves all the honor and praise.

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

Do you see that the reason you were created in the first place was to God our Heavenly Father pleasure. The gifts and abilities that God has placed within you was for the sake of allowing you to be successful, to where others could see His glory and power through you. When you are successful, do you give Him the praise and honor that He deserves?

Joshua 10:26 "And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees unto that evening."

The law of God as given in Deuteronomy 21, says that you can not leave a dead person hanging on the tree when the sun goes down.

Joshua 10:27 "And it came to pass at the time of the gong down of the sun, that Joshua commanded , and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day."

So after the sun went down, Joshua took the men down and cast them into the pit. Call it the lake of fire and you can relate to this in a prophetic sense. the statement "to this very day", is for a special reason. For it means, "To this very day", continuance to the day of final judgment.

Joshua 10:28 "And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho."

We will find the word "souls" used seven times to the rest of this chapter, as recorded in the manuscripts. Though in the King James translation it is recorded but six times. These souls has to do with that life within you, and not your flesh body. Souls are self, and you have the same soul no matter which body your are in, the body as the angels have from the first earth age, or the incorruptible body of the Millennium age. You still have the same soul from beginning to end, or on into the eternity.

So try to relate these battles as types to what will be taking place in the Millennium for Souls are not destroyed until after the Millennium age, and the final judgment: Then comes the lake of fire. So this is an example of how it shall be when we enter into the promise land at the seventh trump, the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Joshua 10:29 "Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:"

Libnah is at the base of Lebanon, and it means "Whiteness".

Joshua 10:30 "And the Lord delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let not remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho."

In other words, Joshua destroyed all the inhabitants of Libnah, men, women and children. Because this is talking about "Neshamah" "spiritual souls", for this is talking about another time when Jesus [Joshua] would be smiting these souls with the edge of His Sword, which is His tongue, and causing these souls to be destroyed. That time of destruction of souls again, is in the lake of fire, after the great white throne judgment. A man can not kill any soul for only God can take a soul. Remember that this chapter is compared to the Millennium age when Jesus Christ is right here reigning over the earth. In that Millennium age, all souls that did not have a chance to be taught in this earth age of flesh man, will be taught and converted in that Millennium age to Jesus Christ.

Joshua 10:31 "And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:"

"Lachish" in the hebrew tongue means "horse town".

Joshua 10:32 "And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah."

Joshua and the children of Israel have marched into one town after another, and fought and destroyed the town. Did you focus on the fact that it is the Lord that is setting up the situation to where Israel will have one victory after another. There are no victory without God standing by your side, and that includes the final battle against Satan in his role as the Antichrist. "And the Lord delivered..." is the key to all the victories.

Joshua 10:33 "Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish: and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining."

One after the other, God is cleansing the land of these heathen, and turning the land over to Israel for their inheritance. After all the land has been take, then Joshua will divide the land by lots and given to each of the tribes and their families.

Joshua 10:34 "And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:"

Joshua 10:35 "And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish."

Again, souls are not utterly destroyed until the day of judgment, when they will go into the lake of fire with Satan.

Joshua 10:36 "And Joshua went up from Eglon and all Israel with him to Hebron; and they fought against it:"

Joshua 10:37 "And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein."

The connection within the Hebrew manuscripts, make "destroy" the prime root of Satan's name. The word is "Abbadon" in the Hebrew, and Apollyon in the Greek tongue. We read of this in Revelation 9:11 where Jesus is telling us who this leader over the "scorpions" of the fallen angels will be that will be on the earth for that five months period of time, called the tribulation. "And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew is Abbadon [destroyer], but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon." Satan has many names by the roles that he plays at different time. Satan has been called the dragon in the first earth age, the serpent in the garden of Eden; the devil, the deceiver, and of course the Destroyer.

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil."

This destroyer, the devil will not be destroyed until after the day of Judgment and Millennium period is over and done with; then the lake of fire.

Joshua 10:38 "And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:"

Joshua 10:39 "And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also th Libnah, and to her king."

Debir was a place of worship, but not to worship the one True God. It was a place of idol worship.

Joshua 10:40 "So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded."

Joshua and the children of Israel went from one town to another, one battle to another, and one victory to another. In each of these battles, God delivered the children of Israel and set the climate to where the enemy would be defeated. Once Joshua learned to go to the Lord for counsel, and follow the instructions that He gave, the victories came one by one. Joshua didn't change on thing in his battle plans during all these victories. When we follow His Word the best we can, those times of trouble in our lives will also disappear, and give us peace of mind.

The "all that breathed" in the Hebrew text is "Neshamah", the prime for the word we call "soul" in the English.

Joshua 10:41 "And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even unto Gaza, and all the country from Goshen, even unto Gibeon."

So the promise land is established from south to north and east to west. Kadesh-barnea means "holy desert place", and it is the place where Moses and the children of Israel sent out the spies, and then waited to long in obeying God to go in and take the land. Here it is forty years later, one generation has passed and died in the wilderness before the land is now the possession and inheritance of Israel.

Here forty years later, God fought their battles, and gave the children of Israel one victory after another, and not one giant was seen in the land. Those fathers of Israelites that shook over the thought of giants while camped at Kadesh-barnea, and would not enter that promise land, God prevented them from entering into that land. All it took to scare the tribes of Israel was bad information, and all the people froze in terror.

The point to this entire book is that if God tells you things are ok and to do something, He will be there to protect you. Have the faith that God will do what He says that He will do. If God's Word tells you to do something and with our common sense we do it, it will turn out ok. Sure, there may be some roadblock that have to be pushed out of the way, but with God's help you will be successful.

Joshua 10:42 "And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel."

Our Heavenly Father will fight for you today, through His Son Jesus Christ that shed His blood for you, and He has promised you personally that He will not leave you nor forsake you. Just as God fought with Israel, He will go before you and help you in your battles also. Remember that first battle at Ai, when they went out to battle without the counsel fo the Lord...they ran like cowards. But when the follow the Word of the Lord, and did what God's instruction were, the battles were all ending in victory.

Joshua 10:43 "And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal."
