Leviticus 20:1 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,"

So here we will see a list of the punishments for breaking the laws that were given in the prior chapters 18, and 19. Aaron was not present at this time, for it was at the beginning of the journey of the children of Israel through the wilderness on their way to the promise land.

Leviticus 20:2 "Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, `Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones."

This is addressing the children of Israel and warning them against giving their children [seed] to the worship of Molech. The penalty for allowing or doing Molech worship into your family was death. Molech was a bronze image with a head of a calf or bull, and the base of a man; and was hollow. When you built a fire at the base, the fire would spew out its eyes, nose and mouth. Molech stood with outstretched hands, beckoning followers to come.

Many years after the children of Israel reached the promise land; the start of Solomon's downfall was when he had Haman build this bronze image on a place east of Jerusalem to please his wives; for their worship of Molech. In chapter nineteen it discussed the practice of allowing the not burning the children, but having them go through a fire ritual, a baptism by fire, dedicating those children into the service of Molech worship. Any form of heathen ritual is not acceptable to our Lord, and is given into Satan's service.

King Ahaz had the Israelites bring their children for sacrifice; it was be considered an honor to place their child in the arms of this statute, and the fire consume them until their spirit had departed their bodies. Joash put an end to all Ahaz's wickedness in heathen worship, as we read in II Kings 23.

Leviticus 20:3 "And I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile My sanctuary, and to profane My holy name."

When God says; "I will set my face against that man", He is telling us that He will judge and person for the murder of that child, and that right will be reserved for Himself only. No human, judge or priest will be allowed to let this wicked pass by unchecked, repent all you want here on earth, but in heaven is where the real trial for the murder you that child will take place.

Leviticus 20:4 "And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:"

God is warning all the people in the land where this act of killing of the children is taking place. If you look the other way by indifference or by secret approval, and do not kill the man that offered his child, then this will happen to you.

Leviticus 20:5 "Then I will set My face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their People."

God is telling you that He will consider you just guilty as the man that did this murderous act of sacrifice of a child. He will consider that you are sacrificing your children just as that murderer did in sacrificing his. Both you and your family will be just as guilty as the murderer.

In modern times, it is like an armed holdup where a person is murdered in the hold-up act. The one driving the get-away car, and the one holding the door of the bank, is just as guilty as the man that pulled the trigger.

God doesn't like idolatry, and in this case, murder is also taking place. Our Heavenly Father is a jealous God, yet still a loving God. There is a time coming when most all of the people of the world will go a whoring after an unjust god, the Antichrist, and God will cut those people off also, even if it is done in ignorance. That is the reason it is so important to stay in God's Word, so that you will not be deceived. Revelation 9:4 warns us that only those sealed in their minds [foreheads] with the truth and knowledge of these end times, will hold fast and not be deceived. Israel is the bride of Christ, and as such when the false christ arrives on earth shortly, and they go chasing and following Satan the Antichrist in their ignorance, then they become whores in God's sight. God will treat them in that same manner, and tell them to get out of His sight.

Leviticus 20:6 "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his People."

"Familiar spirits" are evil spirits impersonating dead human beings, and attaching themselves only to "mediums" and those who give up their will to those mediums. In Acts 16:16 these familiar spirits are called "the spirit of Python, or Pythius Apollo, i.e. the devil. The "Wizards" are those that possess occult knowledge and practice it. God is telling you directly that He will judge you personally.

Leviticus 20:7 "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God."

"Sanctify" or set yourself apart to be holy, unto the Lord your God.

Leviticus 20:8 "And ye shall keep My statutes, and do them: I am the Lord Which sanctify you."

It is required to know what those statutes are, and then follow those statutes in your life [do them]. "Keep" as given here in the Hebrew text is more than just an act; "Shamar" [# 8104] means to, "hedge as with thorns, i.e. guard; to protect, attend, to be aware, and keep the mark." It requires that you do more than just follow it yourself, but observe and make a difference when you see it going on around you.

Leviticus 20:9 "For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him."

The word "curseth" here is "Qalal" in the Hebrew text [#7043]; "to be lite, to make lite, or to despise or bring into contempt." So for every one that makes brings contempt, or despises on his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

Our Lord Jesus Christ in the New Testament, endorses Moses in four places as the writer of Leviticus. In Mark 7:10, Jesus is quoting Moses and says; "For Moses said, `Honor thy father and thy mother;' and, `Whoso cureth father or mother, let him die the death:' "

Leviticus 20:10 "And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."

When adultery has taken place, both the man and the woman taking part must be put to death. However there was an exception to this verse, and it was given in Leviticus 19:20, when the woman was a slave and forced to commit the act: Then the beating ["scourged"] is what was required for the woman, and the trespass offering was required for the man.

Leviticus 20:11 "And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

This verse deals with the man that has sex with his step-mother, which is uncovering his father's nakedness. Those caught in this act requires that both the man and his step-mother be put to death. The first part where this act showed up in the bible was in Genesis 9:22 "And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without." Canaan was the child born out of that cursed act of "uncovering his father's nakedness"; between the Ham, the son of Noah, and Noah's wife.

To show how silly people can get, some so called religious teachers teach that this cursing caused the black race. That is making a mockery out of the Scriptures, for God created all races at the same time and saw and they were all good. There is not placing one race better than another based on any sinful act. Race is based completely on genetic bloodlines, and we know for a fact that Noah and his entire family, wife, sons and their sons, were of the Adamic, or "ruddy complected= showing blood in the face"

Genesis 6:9 "These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation, and Noah walked with God."

"In his generations" in the Hebrew text is "dor", not "toledoth" as given with respect to his family history. "Perfect" is "tamim" which is the common way today to say, "without blemish as to breed or pedigree." If you raise show animals you know exactly what "pedigree" means, it means the blood line is pure, no stay animals mess around with your animal. Noah and his wife and sons and their wives were of a perfect human pedigree; Why do we know this, because God was protecting this blood line for the Messiah to come through.

God created things in a natural order and He was pleased with what He created. the races were created in Genesis 1:26-28, and in Genesis 2 we see that God saw that there was no race to tend to the soil, and thus He created Adam and Eve. the genetic ties from Christ to Adam is given directly in Luke 3:23-38.

Leviticus 20:12 "And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them."

"Confusion" as stated here is "to mix" in the prime. Of course this is referring to "a man lie with his daughter in law" committing the sexual act, and God forbids this among His people.

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

This verse is talking about the homosexual act. "If a man lie with "a male" [mankind]," in the same manner that he would with a woman, performing a sexual act, they have committed an abomination before God. God demands that both these individuals should be put to death. The death of these two will be on their heads alone, not the ones that cast the stones to kill them.

Today sodomy, or homosexual acts are so common that even many churches are allow these sodomites not only in their midst, but to be their spiritual leaders. Is it any wonder that our land is starting to get the curses of Deuteronomy 28. This is one of the warning that Jesus gave us in Matthew 24:28, that it would be as it was in the days of Noah, sodomy was running wild. Noah and his family were the only righteous family present when the destruction came. Stop and look around you at all the moral filth that is not only going on, but is promoted and protected by the laws of our land.

In Genesis 19:5 the men of Sodom begged Lot to send the messengers from God out so they could "know them", with their filthy moral practices. These Sodomites surrounded the house, and lay in wait like a pack of wild animals.

Romans 1:21-27 is the place in the New Testament where Paul deals with Sodomy. It is their heart or mind that is so darkened by Satan, "that they professing to be wise, they become fools." The lose sight of the glory of God, and become corruptible by their own imaginations. Verse 24; "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:" Friend, this is one of the signs that we are in the end times, for it is out of the closets, and into the schools, homes, and even the churches of our land. Our government even passes laws to protect their sin and filth of sexual manner.

I Corinthians 6:9 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"

When a person starts down the road to homosexual acts, the lusts of their minds blind them to the truths from God's Word. They just don't care. They redefine the Word to fit their own unrighteousness, and completely turn their minds over to Satan and his evil spirits for guidance. Satan knows the Word, and he also knows how to twist it and make it fit the will of these evil minded people. Sure there is forgiveness for this sin at the cross, but the time is coming when God will close their minds to the truth, and they will chase after the wickedness of Satan completely blinded to the truth.

Amos 8:11, 12 "Behold the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" [11] "And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." [12]

You get in tune with God's Word, "the bread of life", now, because when Satan arrives as the Antichrist it will not be there on this earth. This time is approaching fast, for we can see the signs of the first five seals and trumps before us now. The sixth is the arrival of Satan and his fallen angels. In the seventh we are ushered into the "kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ" here on earth.

I Timothy 1:9,10 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,  For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;" 

God has stated through out His entire scripture what He things of this and warned those that practice these sodomite acts, and to continue in that path with this knowledge is spiritual suicide.

Leviticus 20:14 "And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire both he and they; that are be no wickedness among you."

Deuteronomy 27:20 clears this up a bit, but in Joshua 7:25 tells us that these three were to be stone to death, and their dead bodies to be burned up with fire.

Leviticus 20:15 "And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast "

This is a man that lies with the male of the beast, both should be put to death.

Leviticus 20:16 "And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

This verse is similar to verse 15, and it deals with a female that lie with a beast, and the results are the same. Both are to be put to death. The term "lie down" as in the Hebrew text is "in copulation", meaning that the sex act definitely took place. God wrote these law down because at the time of Moses these practices were very much in practice amongst the heathen nations of the world, The Egyptians, and including those that were occupying the land that the children of Israel would later live amongst when they took over their promise land at that time.

Leviticus 20:17 "And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing: and they shall be cut off in the sight of their People: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity."

Where is says, "in the sight of their people" requires a special penalty that is attached to this disgraceful thing. We also noticed that in Leviticus 18, the mother and granddaughter were addressed on this same act. "See the nakedness" of course refers to having the sexual act committed between the man and his close kin. The penalty for this would be as then, stone to death all those that were guilty.

Leviticus 20:18 "And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people."

This verse deals with a man having sex with a woman while she was in her menstruation period. "He hath discovered her fountain" means that of "issue" from prior chapters 15:24, and 18:19. Penalty for this act was death. The exception to this death sentence was in the case when during congicle intercourse, the woman would start her menstrual cycle then, the man and woman would be unclean for seven days and the penalty would not be being cut off from the people [death].

Leviticus 20:19 "And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity."

This deals with sex between a man and his aunt on his mother or father's side of the family. Where you see; "they shall bear their iniquity", it means that God reserves the right to give the judgment. One part of this judgment is when the woman would die childless in her marriage, and this act was done for the sake of giving seed to that family, when the husband [uncle] has passed on.

Leviticus 20:20 "And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sins; they shall die childless."

Again God is reserving the punishment for this act, considering the reason for this act to have taken place.

Leviticus 20:21 "And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless."

In Deuteronomy 25:5 the law says; "If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her."

This brother of the dead brother was required to take his brother's wife to marriage, for the sake of having children. So God reserves the right to judge intensions to the act between a man and his sister in law.

Leviticus 20:22 Ye shall therefore keep all My statutes, and all My judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out."

This warning is to the future time, when the children of Israel would be in their promise land. Then the warning was that if they kept all of God's statutes and judgment and did them, God's promise was that He would not spue them out, like He was going to spue the Canaanites out to give the land to them.

Leviticus 20:23 "And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nations, which I cast out before you; for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them."

The warning here is that they do not walk and act in the manners of the nations of the Canaanites, that would be cast out and and their lands given to you. God is letting His children of Israel know that what they are doing, God hates them and will sever Himself off from them.

Leviticus 20:24 "But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto yu to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, Which have separated you from other people."

God is telling His people to separate yourselves from those evil and abominable things that heathen nations do; that the Egyptians and the Canaanites do.

Leviticus 20:25 "e shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean."

"Difference" means separation; God is commanding that His people separate the clean animals from the unclean, clean birds from the unclean, in the diet that they shall eat. This is asking them to respect His health laws. We discussed the health laws in Leviticus 11, giving the clean animals, fowls, fish and creeping things from the unclean creatures.

Leviticus 20:26 "And ye shall be holy unto Me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be Mine."

God is letting us know that Israel, all the tribes, are considered His people, and He expects the nations that are made of those the descendants for those tribes to be holy people. Today we know who the Jews are, of the house of Judah. The house of Judah is made up of the tribes of Benjamin, and Judah, and half the tribe of Levi. Whereas the old house of Israel, were the other tribes of Israel. Hosea 1:10 tells us how to recognize these people in the latter days.

Hosea 1:10 "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, `Ye are not My People,' there it shall be said unto them, `Ye are the sons of the living God.' "

This is speaking of the time of the end, when the people of the ancient "house of Israel" are living as many nations. At that time, they will not know who they are, for they will call themselves by many names, yet at the same time, they can be identified by one fact. Each of those nations will consider themselves as "Christian nations"; "Ye are the sons of the living God." The "living God" is Jesus Christ, and His sons are called "Christians".

God is telling us to be holy, just as He is holy. God has severed you from other people; "severed" means "separated" from heathen nations, and He expect our actions and way of life to be separate from the ways of the world. Today our nation is opening it's doors to people from all over the world, with their heathen religious forms and customs, but God expects each of us to follow His Word; laws, commandments, and the teaching and examples of His apostles in our lives individually as well as within our nation.

Leviticus 20:27 "And man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.' "

We discussed the familiar spirit in verse six. "Familiar spirits" are demons or evil spirits impersonating dead human beings, and attaching themselves only to "mediums" and those who give up their wills to them. They think that what they are doing is reality, when they come in contact with these enactments [evil spirits].

When Saul went to the wicked witch of Endor, and she brought of the familiar spirit of Samuel, it wasn't Samuel, but a demon presenting itself as Samuel. Saul acted on the instruction of this demonic, because he actually thought he was speaking to Samuel, when in fact it was a demon [familiar spirit] from Satan. God said that the punishment for messing around with these familiar spirits was death to the one that called on the medium for instruction.

The "wizard" are "the knowing ones"; they are dealing in the occult to where they have knowledge of the occult and the acts that they are committing. They follow methods and rites of Satan, whereas the person going after "familiar spirits" follow evil spirits in ignorance. The person dealing in familiar spirits is seeking the truth from a righteous person, but that person is dead. In ignorance they think that they can speak to the dead and get instructions, when in fact it is impossible. The only contact with a dead spirit, is a familiar [evil] spirit. The wizard knows the occult and the nature of what he is doing; while the other acts with familiar spirits are done in ignorance. God condemns both equally, and God put the wages of this sin on each of them by stoning them to death.
