Numbers

Chapter 24

"Without Enchantment."
"Balaam's Third Parable. [3 - 14]"
Balaam's Fourth Parable [15 - 24]"
"Israel. [17 - 19]"

There has been twenty one altars, twenty one bullocks, and twenty one rams sacrifice so far.

Numbers 24:1 "And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness."

Balaam is not going to follow the same religious procedure here that he followed after the offerings the seven bullocks and seven rams on the seven altars. He knew that he would not change God's mind, but at lease he was not seeking enchantments along with the animal sacrifices.

Numbers 24:2 "And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him."

As Balaam sat on that hill top of Peor, and looked down on the entire encampment of the Israelites, He saw the four Israelites divided into four units as God told them to set up their tents by tribe, with the tabernacle in the middle, and the tribe of Levi encamped around the tabernacle. This layout is given on page 64. God's Spirit came over Balaam and YHVH is about to give Balaam a blessing, as he watched the activity below in the camp.

Numbers 24:3 "And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, And the man whose eyes are open hath said:"

The man whose eyes were closed but are now open, has said; this is talking about Balaam himself. Before, while on Balaam's journey to Moab, he could not see the Angel of the Lord standing right in front of him. But as he is looking down on the full camp of the children of Israel, God was dwelling in the tabernacle in the center of the camp, and the Spirit of God opened His eyes to see this work of God.

Numbers 24:4 "He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, Falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:"

When Balaam stood there beating his animal, this ass spoke to him. Those words spoken through the mouth of the ass came from almighty God. The Angel of God spoke to him, and he fall on his face to the ground, for at once Balaam's eyes were opened. At this point in time, he has come as close to being a true prophet of God than he ever will; however that insight will not last long.

Numbers 24:5 "How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, And thy tabernacles, O Israel!"

With the layout of this massive camp spread out below, Balaam was very impressed with the order within this massive amount of people in their tent city. These people of Israel, all the tribes, were blessed people and their nations even today are orderly. These are the Christian nations of today, just as Hosea prophesied.

Hosea 1:10 "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, `Ye are not My People,' there is shall be said unto them, `Ye are the sons of the Living God."

This is speaking of the tribes of the "house of Israel", all ten of them, in the latter days. The time will come to pass that where ever they have established their nations, they will not call themselves or identify themselves with Jacob. No, they still call themselves Gentile. Yet at the same time they will call themselves "sons of the Living God". Jesus Christ is the Living God, and those sons of Christ call themselves Christians. The ten tribes that went to make up the old House of Israel, that northerly nation, started when king Solomon died and ended in 722 B.C. when Assyria conquered them and scattered them around the world. That blessing that God put on the children of Israel, continues to today, as God blesses the Christian nations of the World, if they know how to claim that blessing.

Numbers 24:6 "As the valleys are they spread forth, As gardens by the river's side, As the trees of lign aloes which the Lord hath planted, And as cedar trees beside the waters."

These "trees of lign aloes" were valued because they were used to make incense. Even to this day, all the tribes of Israel are still blessed peoples and nations.

Numbers 24:7 "He shall pour the water out of his buckets, And his seed shall be in many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted."

This means that not only the nations shall prosper, but the people also will prosper. "His seed" are his children, and each of these tribes will be blessed with many children. This king that shall rule over them is David, and in his lineage will be the Messiah that will be the King of Kings, Jesus the Christ. Agag was a Amalekite king that ruled over that entire kingdom.

"Pour the water out of his buckets" is in reference to the Millennium age, recorded in Ezekiel 47, and Zechariah 14.

Numbers 24:8 "God brought him forth out of Egypt; He hath as it were the strength of an unicorn:" He shall eat up the nations his enemies, And pierce them through with his arrows."

When you are serving the living God, you will have the victory, just as the Israelites did when they went in and took the land of Canaan. Nation after nation, and city after city fell as God gave them their inheritance land.

Numbers 24:9 "He couched, he lay down as a lion, And as a great lion: who shall stir him up?  Blessed is he that blesseth thee, And cursed is he that curseth thee."

God has just warned both Balaam and Balak to back off, for every one that blesses Israel will be blessed, and those that curse Israel will be cursed. Israel is all the tribes of Jacob, and those nations that curse any Christian nation will be cursed. Friend, if you curse any of God's people even today, God will curse you. Remember that king Balak was a very powerful person, and Balak knew that Balaam was speaking the words that God had giving him. If he thought that Balaam was playing games with him, Balak could take the life of Balaam. So far though, Balaam is speaking the words that the Lord told him to say.

Numbers 24:10 "And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: And Balak said unto Balaam, "I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times."

King Balak was getting very angry with Balaam, as he was striking his hands violently, for the only reason that Balaam was called to Moab was to place a curse on the children of Israel. This is exactly what Balak was reminding Balaam, "I called you to curse them three times, and each of those times you ended up blessing the children of Israel, instead of curses them." Remember that God was placing the words in Balaam's mouth, and Balaam could only speak what God gave him to say. God had placed a eternal blessing on the Israelites, and there is no force anywhere that could change that blessing.

Numbers 24:11 "Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the Lord hath kept thee back from honour."

Balaam knew the only God could promote him to honor in the eternity, but will he stand fast and allow God to continue to control his words and actions?

Numbers 24:12 "And Balaam said unto Balak, "Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,"

After Balak told Balaam of his anger with him for not cursing the Israelites; Balaam in turn reminded Balak that he told the messengers that he could only do and say those thing that God would allow him to say. Balaam here is talking about the second group of princes that Balak sent to bring him to Moab. Remember also that Balak increased the reward from the the reward of a curse, to anything that Balaam wanted in the kingdom.

Numbers 24:13 " `If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the Lord, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the Lord saith, that will I speak?"

However, Balaam is reminding Balak what he had said even before he left Mesopotamia, even if you give me a house full of gold and silver, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the Lord. It didn't matter how the commandment was, good or bad, what God wanted, that Balaam had to do.

Numbers 24:14 "And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this People shall do to thy People in the latter days.

At this point in time: it would have been a lot better for Balaam if he would have gone home to his people, and left Moab. Balaam was going to tell Balak exactly what God revealed to him that God and the Israelites were going to do the Moabites [In the latter days]. This should alert us to our generation for we are living in the latter days of this earth age. The "latter days" is the time of the generation of the parable of the fig tree is living in, and that generation started when the Jews went back to Palestine to reestablish their nation. So verses (15 - 24) are talking about the events that are going on right now around us. So lets see what Balaam has to say.

Numbers 24:15 "And he took up his parable, and said, "Balaam the son of Beor hath said, And the man whose eyes are open hath said:"

This is the fourth parable of Balaam, who is the son of Beor, and the man whose eyes were opened by God. God opened up Balaam's eyes back on the path when he was beating on his ass, and the Angel of the Lord was standing before him with sword drawn. So the point for us to consider here: Are our eyes open so that this prophesy is being revealed to us.

Numbers 24:16 "He hath said, which heard the words of God, And knew the knowledge of the Most High, Which saw the vision of the Almighty, Falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:"

Balaam heard the words of God, and he knew that those words came from the Almighty. Balaam received this knowledge in the same manner that Paul of the New Testament received his vision when he was blinded and fell into a trance on the road to Damascus. Balaam saw the truth of God full plan dealing with these end times, and he was telling Balak that this is what is going to happen to the Moabites at the hands of Israel in those latter days.

Numbers 24:17 "I shall see Him, but not now: I shall behold Him, but not nigh: There shall come a Star out of Jacob, And a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, And shall smite the corners of Moab, And destroy all the children of Sheth."

Balaam is referring to Christ here, "I shall see Him, but not now", It just wasn't time for Christ's birth, and the coming of the Messiah. There would be both a first advent and a second advent or coming after the time of Balaam. "There shall come a prince out of Jacob", for this is referring to the first advent. The three wise men followed the star to Bethlehem.

The Scepter that rises our to Israel, is descriptive of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scepter is the Kings Scepter that Christ will bring to rule the World, His Millennium kingdom for that thousand year period. When Jesus returns he will smite the corners of the earth from one end to the end of the earth. "The children of Sheth" should read, "the sons of tumult"; according to the Authorized version of Numbers in the Scripture. The "tumult" means "confusion", and the sons of confusion are those at the second advent when the King of Kings returns with his Scepter, then He will smite all that is evil on the face of the earth.

Revelation 19:11 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war."

This moment in time is at the sounding of the seventh trumpet, for then Jesus Christ, the one on the white horse called Faithful and True will be coming to to earth to judge and make war on the those sons of confusion. Confusion, is "Babel" or the "Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth", of Revelation 17:5. Our Lord and Savior will return and destroy the confusion that exists on the earth with His two edged sword that is the Word that comes from His mouth. That Word is the same Word that when He spoke, all the worlds and earth were created.

Numbers 24:18 "And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; And Israel shall do valiantly."

"Edom" or the Edomites are the offspring of Esau, and today these people are the Russians. Remember that this prophesy is dealing with the end times that we are in now. Earlier in Deuteronomy 2:4-6 the Israelites was forbidden to go to war against their brethren, the Edomites. The Edomites are not part of the Covenant People, as Esau sold His Inheritance to Jacob for a bowl of soup. The Edomites had understood that God told Israel not to war against them, and thus they became more abusive towards the children of Israel. This is why Father changed His mind to allow the Israelite nations to take Edom for a possession.

Of course those that are in Jesus Christ, and know the truth become of Abraham's seed, and Israel will do valiantly because we are under the blood of Christ and on His side.

Numbers 24:19 "Out of Jacob shall come He that shall have dominion, And shall destroy him that remaineth of the city."

Of course this is talking of the One that comes from the lineage of Jacob, and is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. This earth shall be Jesus' dominion; with all the nations of the earth under His rod of Iron. Revelation 19:15 "And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God."

Numbers 24:20 "And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, "Amalek was the first of the nations; But his latter end shall be that he perish for ever."

Amalek was the grandson of Esau, of which the Russian nation came from. So what this is saying is that Amalek or the Russians were the first of the nations to war against Israel in these latter days. Remember we are talking about prophecy of the end times here. However the end of his activity will be in complete destruction, as we read of in Ezekiel 38 and 39. This is what the battle of Hamon Gog is all about for it happens at the very end of this earth and, and when God destroys it, we will move directly into Jesus Christ's Millennium Kingdom. There is only going to be room for one King of Kings at this time.

Numbers 24:21 "And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said,

"Strong is thy dwelling place,

And thou puttest thy nest in a rock."

"Kenites" are the sons of Cain, and these Kenites have taken a hiding place in a rock, in Israel, but they are hiding in a false rock. the "false Christ" or false rock is Satan. All of the enemies of God will be placed as Christ's footstool. Psalms 110:1 "The Lord said unto my Lord, "Sit Thou at My right hand, Until I make thine enemies Thy footstool." And that time is at the seventh trump when Jesus returns as the King of Kings to rule the nations.

Numbers 24:22 "Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive."

In this term "wasted", in the Hebrew test means "consumed by fire". Remember that "Asshur" was one of the name assigned to Satan, the Antichrist. When Satan returns to earth as he will; Revelation 12:9 "And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." So when the "Asshur" the Antichrist Satan returns, he shall be the messiah for the Kenites. The Kenites will follow Satan right into the Millennium age, and on into the lake of fire, and be turned to ashes forever.

Numbers 24:23 "And he took up his parable, and said, "Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!"

So now I ask you, Who is going to be living When God places Satan, the Kenites and all the people of the nations that turn their back on Jesus Christ. Who will be living after the great white throne judgment of God? Revelation 20:14, 15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." [14] "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." [15] If you are living in this final generation, and you have the gospel armor on and in place, you will do well.

Numbers 24:24 "And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, And shall Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, And he also shall perish for ever."

The word "Chittim" means the "Bruisers". These Bruisers are the Elect that will have made their stand against Satan while he is here on earth deceiving the whole earth. The Elect were seal in their minds from the Word of God, and Satan did not deceive them. The Elect will take part in standing up to Antichrist and making him and his deception know to the world. So this is saying that the Elect will afflict Asshur [The Assyrian], or the Antichrist Satan, and those Hebrews [Eber] that would not accept the true Christ. This includes those of Judah as well as the Kenites that are mixed in with the Kenites.

Revelation 3:9 "Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."

Of course this is talking about the Kenites, those of the lineage of Satan through Cain from this earth age, will be forced to come and worship Christ at the feet of the Elect [Chittim or Bruisers] in the Millennium age of Christ kingdom here on earth. After that thousand year period they were go with their father Satan into the lake of fire.

Numbers 24:25 "And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way."

So where was Balaam's place? We will see that that place was his religious high places, where in time he would be the council for leading the Israelites into worshipping their heathen gods. God used this heathen preacher for a purpose, and when that purpose was fulfilled, there went Balaam right back into filthy spiritual condition that he was in at the beginning. In Numbers 25, and 31 he led both the Midianites and the Moabites into seducing the Israelites into following Molech, the god Chemosh and Baal worship.

The first plan from Balaam did not work out, that of cursings the children of Israel, so this is another plan, to get the Israelites to join with them in the worship of their false gods. In this manner the Children of Israel will fall away from their God, and come over to our gods. Thus, their own God will cut off His blessings and protection of them, and the Moabites will have a victory in another manner. This will turn God against Moab, Ammon, and God will lift the cover of protection of their land, and will cause their own destruction.
