THE PSALMS

Chapter 111

"Praise for YHVH's Work."

This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson

We will now go into three sets of Psalms of "Praise to the Lord". In the Hebrew tongue, it is to say, "Hallelujah". This is that sacred name of our Father. We will see an acrostic in Psalms 111 and 112. We will see that there are 22 sentences to this chapter. We have broken each of these sentences down, and placed them in order. Notice that before each of these sentences, there is one letter of the Hebrew alphabet. However as it was placed in the English bibles, these 22 were combined into ten sentences. As we go through this chapter, the acrostic will stand out, and we will be detailed in explaining it.

The first of three Hallelujah Psalms; the first two being a pair of Acrostic Psalms, linked together by a corresponding arrangement. See the groupings below are from the Companion Bible footnotes.

Psalms 111 1-8, Eight couplets.

9, 10 Two triplets.

Psalms 112 1-8, Eight couplets.

9, 10 Two triplets.

This Psalms 111 is titled Praising our Father's Work. Do you appreciate His work and those blessings received. God created you and all peoples, so we are part of that work.

Psalms 111:1 "Praise ye THE LORD.

"I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,

In the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation."

Praise the Father for all his creation, and I will praise the Father with my whole mind. Notice that the praise is for the "Upright in the the congregation", They are the Just, or elect of God, the Zadok. The "assembly" is in the secret assembly. Again, the secret assembly is God's elect, those that have spiritual ears to hear, with understanding. These Elect or Zadok, are those talked about in Psalms 110:4 that have the understanding to know the meanings of the parables that were spoken by Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ, when He walked this earth in the flesh.

Psalms 111:2 "The works of the Lord are great,

Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein."

Only those of the Zadok are going to seek out the works that our Lord does for them, and in this world. No one else will do it, for they just don't care. The truths and the works of God are sought out by those that want to know the true works of the Father. If you enjoy studying chapter by chapter, and verse by verse, then that is you. With the understanding of the Word, the rewards are great, for God will bless you for taking that interest. In those rewards, you have the wisdom of God in your mind, and you know the purpose that you are here on earth.

Psalms 111:3 "His Work is honourable and glorious:

And His righteousness endureth for ever."

The works that are revealed to you is not something that is here today, and gone tomorrow, but the wisdom that you gain is for ever. You are in our Father's creation, and when you see the whole of that creation, you can see the purpose that Father made your soul in the first place. It is truly honorable and glorious, for our purpose is to give honor, and praise, and reverence to the creator, our Lord Jesus Christ. It also brings peace of mind to those that understand.

Psalms 111:4 "He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered:

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion."

Our Heavenly Father made His creation, and He had the record placed in His book, the Bible. He doesn't want you to forget those works. As you study His Word, you call those works to your remembrance from the world that was, that first earth age prior to flesh man. That is what this earth age of flesh man is all about, when our souls from that age that was fell short of God's standard, Our Father made this earth age, and allowed each soul to go through it but once. Each soul is born innocent of that prior age, and is allow to make the choice of whether to serve and follow God, or Satan.

Psalms 111:5 "He hath given meat unto them that fear Him:

He will ever be mindful of His covenant."

Father will reveal the meat of the Word to those that revere Him. Today most people are satisfied with the milk of the Word. And within the meat of His Word are many promises, and God is mindful of each promise that is listed with His covenant or Word. You can count on each of those promises. It is not like the promises that flesh man makes for most of those promises are gone before the sun goes down. Mankind forgets, but our Father does not. He made promises, and when you claim those promises, He is faithful to keep His Word.

Psalms 111:6 "He hath shewed His People the power of His works,

That He may give them the heritage of the heathen."

"The Heritage of the heathen"; the Hebrew text reads, "the inheritance of the nations". This is talking abut that time when there will be but one nation, one King of the earth, and that King will have the right to give the inheritance of the earth to His chosen, the Zadok, His elect.

Ezekiel 44:28 "And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession."

In the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom here on earth, where each soul will receive their lot, God elect or Zadok will receive no allotment of land, for the entire earth is their inheritance. The possession is eternal, and takes place after the great white throne judgment, and Satan and all those that follow him are destroyed in the lake of fire.

Psalms 111:7 "The works of His hands are verity and judgments,

All His commandments are sure."

"Verity" is "Truth". There is justice in all of our Father works, all of His commandments and Laws are sure, you can count on them. As you look around today, everyone is wondering that is going to happen. The world has follow a world government that is falling apart right before our eyes. Terrorism is running wild, and we see mistrust among all the nations. What is this all coming to, and where are we being led? It is even to the point that many of the people of the world even wonder if the world will be here tomorrow. Well, if they had studied the Word of God, They would see the plan for this earth age taking place right before their eye. The commandments and statements within the Word of God are sure; The Antichrist is coming, the world will follow him in ignorance, and this earth age will come to a close at the sounding of the Seventh trump. You can count on it. Why? It is written in God's holy Word.

Psalms 111:8 "They stand fast for ever and ever,

And are done in truth and uprightness."

To have peace of mind in this final generation, you have to realize that the Creator of this universe and their soul is in control. Those things that are happening are a fulfillment of His Word. The elect of God are always fair in all that they do. Many times people will wonder why problems come into their lives; but if they understood God's Word, they would see that they had it coming. God is fair in all matters, and if it doesn't look that way to you, then it is you and your mind that is off. If God punishes us, the reward that we receive at the end, is always in His Love. Everything that God does with regards to His own, is done as an act of love. Even on that day in the future when those that refused the Lord and follow Satan into the lake of fire, that will be as an act of love from the Father. For they would have refused every opportunity that God gave them to come to Him and receive their eternal reward. They carefully chose their reward of hells fire.

In the Millennium age, God is going to give each soul an incorruptible body, free from sickness, and the cares that we face in this age of the flesh. Then He will place within their mind His Word, so they won't even have to ask their neighbor about the word for it will be part of their thinking. Then after they have lived that thousand years under those conditions, if they refuse the Lord, they made the choice and God rewarded them with their choice. So it becomes God's love for you that he would destroy them, for in the eternity there shall be no tears, sorrow, or crying, and that is why they well even be wiped from your memory.

Psalms 111:9 "He sent redemption unto His people:

He hath commanded His covenant for ever:

Holy and Reverend is His name."

Father has cared for His people and made a covenant or promise with them that shall stand forever. That covenant is true and you can count on every word of that Covenant, or Testament. "Holy" from the Sacred name as given in Exodus 3:14; " And God said moreover unto Moses, "I AM THAT I AM:" and He said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, `I AM hath sent me unto you.' " "ehyeh `asher `ehyes", "Yah hast sent me unto you." "Reverend" comes from the Hebrew words, "nora" and "yare", meaning "to be feared". In the English tongue of today, To be revered. He is the foundation of our life, the Rock that we build our lives on.

Psalms 111:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:

A good understanding have all they that do His commandments."

His praise endureth for ever."

Think for a moment on this first line, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:" This is what Solomon was also revealed, as he wrote Proverbs 1:7; "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction." The reverence of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. True wisdom does not begin until you start to give reverence to our Heavenly Father.

When you follow the plan that God has laid out within His Word, that is doing His commandments. You have to read and study that plan before you have the knowledge to follow it and please the Lord. His praise endureth for ever. This acrostic continues right into the next chapter of Psalms.
