"Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech."

"Maschil" means instruction, there will be instruction for each of us in it. "Doeg" in the Hebrew means "fearful", and this identification will be important in the study of this chapter. This Doeg was an Edomite, a son of Esau, which is the Russian people of today. In this chapter, Doeg is a type of Antichrist, in a prophetic sense we have gone to that day and this is his appearance. So this chapter tells us how Antichrist's deceit will affect the people. "Ahimelech" means "the brother of the king", and after the Philistines were taken, Saul gave David the sword of Goliath.

Later when Saul and David had a falling out, David fled for his life and went to the tabernacle to the priests, and they gave that sword of Goliath that was in store there. When Saul, Doeg and his men came to the tabernacle to the priest to have them betray David, they would not, and Saul gave Doeg the orders to slay all of them. Doeg took pleasure in carrying out Saul's order.

I Samuel 22:18 "And the king said to Doeg, "Turn thou, and fall upon the priests," And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod."

Doeg took his sword and killed about 85 priests of God and their families, and that is what makes him the type of Antichrist or Satan in this chapter. He is the kind of the one that would destroy the true teachers of God. The Edomites found pleasure in doing the bidding against God's teachers and priests. No they would not destroy those that would go along with the funny stories and traditions that men have devised, as is taught from most pulpits across our nation in this end generation.

Psalms 52:1 "Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O might man? The goodness of god endureth continually."

This again is relating to Doeg and his treachery. This "mighty man" is translated as "Gibbor" in the Hebrew text, "the lawless one"; and that is what makes this a type of Antichrist in a prophetic sense. The word "mischief" in the text is "malignity", and this mischief will be something that will continue to grow to where it entangles everyone. So what this is saying is that even though this wicked one is with you, God's goodness will endureth continually with you. Though the enemy is all around you, God's goodness is always there with you. You can tust our heavenly Father.

Psalms 52:2 "Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; Like a sharp rasor, working deceitfully."

Satan know that his time here on earth is very short, and that he doesn't have much time left to get his deeds of deception done. The great deception of the end times has started and his children the Kenites are preparing the way for the world to accept Satan at his coming. There are many enemies in the world today, besides those Kenites, for there are evil spirits, and those that would follow those wicked traditions of men. Yes those wicked ones know that their doom and end is coming, and like a sharp razor, they are working deceitfully to ensnare all the souls that would listen to them. You can count on this wickedness coming for God's Word has warned us that that lying tongue of devilish mischief would be working in our day.

Psalms 52:3 "Thou lovest evil more than good; And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah"

"Selah" again means that you stop and you think and meditate on what has just been said here about this wicked one, the Antichrist coming on the scene. There is a connecting thought between this evil and deceitful tongue of Antichrist [Doeg], he is going to connect it to the "imprecation" or prayer that evil befalls Antichrist, and that he will be done away with.

Psalms 52:4 "Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue."

This is talking about Satan's tongue, and his deceitful ways.

Psalms 52:5 "God shall likwise destroy thee for ever, He shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, And root thee out of the land of the living, Selah."

This pinpoints it directly to Satan, and not to the man Doeg, for there has only been one condemned soul at this time. All others, even Doeg and the Kenites have the opportunity to repent and believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and have eternal life, but Satan only is condemned to hell and destruction.

Ezekiel 28:18 "Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee."

Satan is that "son of perdition spoken of in II Thessalonians 2:3, that will sit and claim himself to be God in verse for, and the whole world will believe him. All of Satan's children must wait unto that day of judgment before they are condemned to hell fire. Each of them still has the right to believe on our Lord Jesus Christ, and repent of their sins and have salvation.

There is a Selah ending this verse, which tells us to stop and think of these things that have just been presented, and then this Selah is connecting God's judgment with the righteous onlookers, or God's elect, those that are not caught up in Satan's tricks that will observe it all happening before their eyes.

Psalms 52:6 "The righteous also shall see, and fear, And shall laugh at him:"

"The righteous" as given here in this verse is plural in the Hebrew text, and indicates all the righteous will see and give reverence to our heavenly Father for alerting us through His Word. Are we going to fear Satan? Hardly, for God's elect will know exact what to expect. We know that as long as we are in our flesh bodies, that one claiming to be the Christ is a fake. We know that he will sit on the side of the north in Zion, in Jerusalem and claim to be God and the world will believe him. We know that everything flowing from his mouth is a lie, a flood of lies [Revelation 12:13-17], and that has to happen before we will see the one and True Christ return.

Will those lies wonders and deceitful so called miracles of supernatural things be inviting to us, absolute not, for God has warned us continually of what to expect when Satan is kicked out of heaven onto this earth. The righteous shall laugh at him. It is like going to see a magician show, when you know all the tricks that he uses, the false bottoms, the mirrors, and the smoke that gets your attention away of the deceitfulness of his acts. Yes this verse is talking about the Antichrist in our age. He is coming and the world will be deceived.

Psalms 52:7 "Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness."

Satan wanted to do nothing with God and His ways, not in the world that was in the first earth age, nor in this earth age. Ezekiel 28 again is very specific as to how Satan fell. How that he was sentenced to death, and how he will fulfill the negative part of God's plan in this earth age. Satan uses the things that you can see, feel, and use your senses to cause you to reason his way. He uses wealth, fame, and glory to his advantage, and when people brag you up, look out for that is how you will fall. Satan's pride is how he fell. Put your trust in God, and if God blesses you by that trust, thank him and use those blessings wisely. Remember from Psalms 50:12; every thing belongs to God anyway. "...for the world is mine and the fullness thereof."

Psalms 52:8 "But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever."

This verse is stated by those that stand by the "onlookers". The olive oil is the oil of God's people, and the "olive trees" are symbolic of the two witness of Revelation 11:4 "These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the God of the earth". Olive trees are symbolic of those people that will completely obey our heavenly Father. Olive oil is symbolic of the truths from God's Word, and in the parable of the ten virgins of Matthew 25:1-11, five of those virgins did not have enough of the truths of God's Word to see them through to the very end, the coming of the true Christ. So if you are an "onlooker", one standing by watching for all these things and events coming to pass before your eyes, you had better keep enough oil in your lamp to see you to the very end.

That "mercy of God" can only be found in the temple of God, and that temple in these end times is the many membered body of Christ, the elect that know the truth. We will find God's mercy in the Word of God. You have to dig it out for yourself, and place it in your own mind. You can't rely on any man for your oil of truth in that day. What happens if you become separated from your source? you lose your reservoir of oil or truth, and that is why you must study to know the truth. You must be a witness in the house of God, which is to say, for Christ.

Psalms 52:9 "I will praise Thee for ever, because Thou hast done it: And I will wait on Thy name; for it is good before Thy saints."

"To the chief Musicians upon Mahalath."

This is the answer of why we will give our Heavenly Father the praise. It is "because Thou [YHVH] hast done it". When you know the Word of God, it is good for you, as one of Thy saints. This chapter has given us a view of the Antichrist, but after the Selah it gives us the thoughts in the minds of God's elect, or the saints that know the truths. They are the ones that will take the time to meditate and will stand by observing the events of our day as those things take place. You became observers, and did not take part in those actions and deeds of Satan the Antichrist. They did not take part in the apostasy, the great falling away.
