THE PSALMS

Chapter 56

"Israel's Redeemer, and His Word."

This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson

This chapter is to be played out; "To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim." It also instructs us as to how we are to listen to this Psalm to get all it's true meanings to our minds. "Jonath-elem-rechokim" in the Hebrew text means "The dove of the distant Terebinths [as it coos]." It is a pictorial description of David in the wilderness, fleeing from his son Absalom, and crying out to the Lord. It is written to "Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath", meaning [the winepress]. "Michtam" means Resurgam, one of the six Psalms so called. "Resurgam" means that "it is a golden Psalm, and it always has it's reference to the Messiah, Jesus the Christ." Those of "Gath" are the ones that took David and drove him from that place of rest. So this is talking about Israel's Redeemer and His Work.

To better understand this Psalm, let me first give some background material of what was going on in David's life at the time. David had escaped Saul pursuit of him, to take his life, and in fleeing, he came upon this temple. He had no sword or weapons at the time to defend himself, nor food to sustain him. When the priest in that temple saw David, they allowed him to even eat of the holy bread for their nourishment. They felt that David was worthy to eat of that shew bread. We see Messiah in this, for Jesus said, I am the bread of life, and David took of that bread from the temple.

Then David asked the priests for a weapon, and the only weapon or sword that they had at the temple was the Sword of Goliath, the one that David took from Goliath when he cut his head off. The priest took the sword and gave it to David, for they knew that David had the right to take and keep the sword, if he so desired. This story is given in I Samuel 21. However, Doeg was also present at this time and witnessed this whole event that took place with the priests. So what is the meaning of it all. This Psalm is about the end times, when Antichrist is here on earth; and Doeg was a type of the Antichrist. This Antichrist [Doeg] was in the temple when David took the bread of life, and the very sword that he cut Goliath's head off with, [the political beast of the end times, giving it the deadly wound]. Now is this prophecy coming to your mind? This is from the Holy Spirit, listen and learn on the deeper level from Father's Word.

Psalms 56:1 "Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; He fighting daily oppresseth me."

"Would swallow me up" in the Hebrew text says that "like a pack of wild animals they pant and thirst for my blood." It states that these men chasing me want to murder me. Friend, that is the way that the Doeg of the end times, the Antichrist will be after your soul, when he arrives at the sixth trumpet. That time is not far away. Satan is after your soul, for he doesn't care about you flesh body. The war in the end times is a spiritual war, and the battle field is in your mind. They will all talk peace peace, but there will be no peace, not with Satan presenting himself as the Messiah. Many in their ignorance will run to Satan and seek to have him fly them away. That is why knowing His Word and the order of events in the last days is so important, and we must be willing to call upon the Lord for our protection. Then God will place His wall of protection around each of us.

Psalms 56:2 "Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: For they be many that fight against me, O Thou Most High."

Notice that even while David was on the run with the enemy close on his trail, David continually communes with our Heavenly Father. We do it in Jesus name. Remember the verses from Psalms 55; "He shall hear you..." "He shall deliver you..." You can count on that deliverance.

Psalms 56:3 "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee."

In those times I am in trouble, I will confide in You, O Lord. I will put my confidence in you Almighty God. Make this verse part of your life. You have to make the move to put your trust in Him, and confide in God, and He will do the rest. He know the problem, and what has to be done. Then God promised that he will give you peace of mind.

Psalms 56:4 "In God I will praise His word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."

When Doeg, the Antichrist is present, and you have your faith and trust in the Lord, you have the full protection from God. When Satan is here, you simply don't have to worry what they do to your flesh, for this age of the flesh will be about over. Remember that Satan and his realm is not after harming your flesh, they are after claiming your very soul, your belief. Satan wants to convince you that he is God.

II Thessalonians 2:3, 4 "Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition," [3] "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

Satan is that "man of sin", that "son of perdition", and there will be a falling away first, before the true Christ comes. Satan will use every means at hand to cause you to fall to him. He thinks nothing of calling himself and doing whatever supernatural acts necessary to get you to bow to him as God. However, when you know Satan for the fake he is, you should not find him tempting at all. Satan time in Jerusalem must come before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ at the seventh trumpet. You will not see the true Christ's return in your flesh body, for Paul tells us at the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet, all flesh will be changed into their incorruptible bodies. So if anyone claims to be Jesus, and you are still in your flesh body, that person is a fake. You will be here witnessing this taking place, and there will be no escape from it; short of your death, and your soul being already with the Father.

I Corinthians 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

A kingdom is made up of a king and his domain. When Jesus Christ is here on earth setting up his kingdom for the Millennium age, no one can exist in their flesh body. Get it? There will be a vast changing taking place and Paul is revealing that changing to us here. It is a mystery never before spoken of before this time, and that is why it is a mystery.

I Corinthians 15:51 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed,"

I Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead [in flesh bodies] shall be raised [changed into their] incorruptible [spiritual bodies as the angels have], and we shall all be changed."

Psalms 56:5 "Every day they wrest my words: All their thoughts are against me for evil."

Better translated, "All the day long they twist what I say." They twist everything that I say and turn the good words to appear like I am speaking evil. A prime example of this is in the different forms of the Kenite controlled press today. When those pack of socialists finish with what God's people say, it is nothing but a bold face lie. I doesn't resemble what was first spoken in any manner or form. This is prophecy coming to pass in this, for Satan is using his very best to prepare the minds of the public to accept him and his lies at his coming. When ever you see this going on, you know that evil minds are at work there.

Psalms 56:6 "They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, The mark my steps, When they wait for my soul."

They hide themselves and plot against my steps, and lay in wait to trap my soul. What this is saying is they hide in the bushes by my path, and wait for my words to pass or be said, so they can twist my words to trap my soul. In the prophetic sense, it is the soul that Satan and his realm [Kenites and evil spirits] are after. There are many today that are innocently doing the work and bidding for Satan, and by their traditions, they just don't know any better.

Psalms 56:7 "Shall they escape by iniquity: In Thine anger cast down the people, O God."

No those that are doing Satan's work shall not escape the iniquity that they are doing for Satan, even in their ignorance of what they are doing. They will pay the price and miss that first marriage supper, however there is the Millennium age where they will be taught. David is asking God that He not allow those that do the work of Satan, and plot against God's elect to get away with any of their evil deeds, and they will not. They will all pay a dear price for their ignorance in bowing to Satan, and doing his work.

Psalms 56:8 "Thou tellest my wanderings: Put Thou my tears into Thy bottle: Are they not in Thy book?"

Each of those tears of God's righteous are in the bottle and stored for that time when God takes vengeance on His enemies. If you are doing the work of Satan, promoting doctrine that goes against the Word of God such as the rapture doctrine, or promoting Sodomy or any such thing, know that God's vengeance will come down hard on you at the time of God's vengeance.

Historically, there was a custom at the time of David, that the tears of the mourners were collected in a bottle and buried with the dead. Hence often found in ancient tombs. However that is not what this is speaking of, for in "Thou tellest my wanderings" reminds us that God knows the directions of our mind and thoughts of my meditations are all the time. Put those prayers and thoughts in that bottle, or book that you have in heaven.

In Revelation 5:8 and 8:3, 4 lets us know that God truly does store the prayers of the saints in heaven. 5:8; "And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints."

Revelation 8:3 "And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne."

Revelation 8:4 "And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand."

There is one specific time that this bottle of prayers is opened, and that time will be at the close of this earth age of the flesh. It will be just before the appearance of the Antichrist.

Psalms 56:9 "When I cry unto Thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: This I know; for God is for me."

Do you have this same confidence that David had when his enemies were hot on his trail. "This I know, for God is for me." This is a statement of certainty, and you can know it for sure when you have eyes to see and ears to hear and know the truths of God's Word.

Psalms 56:10 "In God will I praise His word: In the Lord will I praise His word."

"In God will I praise His Word," and it is given again, "In the Lord will I praise His word." God's Word is all His promises that He has given to you, and you can count on each one of them.

Psalms 56:11 "In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid What man can do to me."

There it is, and what more could you want for assurance. When you do your Father's will and work first, you must first study his plan so you will know what you are to do. See those deeper meanings hidden in His Word for those with eyes to see the truth.

Psalms 56:12 "Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praise unto Thee."

Those vows and promises that God has made to those that trust him, are there for you to claim, when you put your trust in God. We know this, because we are living in that generation where all these things will come to pass. When you have eyes to see the truth, don't forget to thank Him for that wisdom from His Word that His Spirit has shown to you. Praise Him for those truths.

Psalms 56:13 "For Thou hast delivered my soul from death: Wilt not Thou deliver my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the light of the living?"

"To the chief Musician, Al-taschith [Destroy-not]." (The words of David from I Samuel 26:9, 2 Samuel 24:16, 17.)

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that and the power of death, that is, the devil;"

Jesus came to earth, born in the flesh, and died on the cross so that He could destroy death, which is to say, "the devil". This then is a promise from our heavenly Father to you, that He will deliver you from Satan, the Antichrist, when he comes to earth. Friend there is only one group that will walk before God in our generation, and those are the ones called the Zadok, in Ezekiel 44. Those Zadok are God's elect that took a stand and knew the truth, and did not bow a knee to Satan in those final days of this earth age.

"In the light of the Living", is why we have this "Mictam" in the introduction of this Psalm. "Mictam" means, "in resurrection life", hence after the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, there is the "land of the living." Messiah's death and sacrifice on the cross brought in that land of the living, that resurrection life that gives us our eternal life. Jesus Christ was the firstfruit of our Heavenly Father.
