This Psalms 86 is a prayer of David.

Psalms 86:1 "Bow down Thine ear, O Lord, hear me: For I am poor and needy."

Please answer [hear] my prayer request.

Psalms 86:2 "Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O Thou my God, save Thy servant that trusteth in Thee.

Guard my soul, for I am holy. Sure David sinned a lot, he even murdered a man to take his wife. When you read something like this it should cause some questions to rise in your mind. "Holy" as used here is "for I am one that Thou favorest". Only God is holy, so pay attention. For we know right after this prayer God did make an everlasting covenant with David. God saw David as one that He could trust and confide in. Remember that it would be through the seed [Nathan] of David that the Messiah would come, as is recorded in Luke 3:31.

Psalms 86:3 "Be merciful unto me, O Lord: For I cry unto Thee daily."

David pleaded with God to "show me favor, and be gracious Lord;" and the word "Lord" used here is "Jehovah" and not "Adonai" as used in some translation. David is praying to the Almighty Father in heaven, and not to a lord in the human sense.

Psalms 86:4 "Rejoice the soul of Thy servant: For unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul."

This is saying, "I lift "my soul" unto you". It is our soul that is eternal, and not this flesh body. Your soul is your self and personality, that makes you a separate entity all of itself. In time when you leave your flesh body, that soul will enter into that spiritual body that is eternal. If you have trouble with body and soul, go to I Corinthians 15, and do a study on the subject. There is a difference between the flesh body and the soul. The soul is within the body, and though these flesh bodies get old and decay in time to the dust of the earth, each soul will return at the time of death to our heavenly Father that created it. David is not holding up his flesh body to God, but he is holding up his soul to the Father.

Psalms 86:5 "For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; And plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee."

When you come to know our Heavenly Father you can see that the Lord is truly Good and ready to forgive us of all our sins, when we are believe His Word, confess those sins, and repent to the Father "in Jesus' Name". Sure, most Christians will agree with you when you say that God will forgive all sin, but when you start to talk about his or her soul, they find God is not all that forgiving to them. Why? It isn't God that is unforgiving, but themselves individually. They will not forgive themselves, and trust God. You have to forgive yourself first, and if you can not forgive yourself, you need not pray to God for He will not answer you and hear you [listen to that prayer]. You have to have the faith to believe and that is a sign of unbelief. Your heart must be right with Him before He will hear your prayer.

Psalms 86:6 "Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications."

Psalms 86:7 "In the day of my trouble I will call upon Thee: For Thou wilt answer me."

When you pray according to His word, there is no set of conditions set out, for He will answer your prayers of supplications that are requesting a favor from Him.

Psalms 86:8 "Among the gods there is none like unto Thee, O Lord; Neither are there any works like unto Thy works."

This is David talking, and he realizes that there are other gods, for there is a false god returning very soon. That false god is Satan in his role as the Antichrist, and Satan even calls himself a god in Second Thessalonians 2:4; "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

The people of the world today are being prepared to receive that false God, Satan, as the true Christ, and in their ignorance of the Word of God, they will. Many of those that are living in the world today will witness this event in person, as we move from the fifth trumpet into the time of the sixth trumpet. Though Satan will present himself as God, there is only One true God, and that is our Lord Jesus Christ, who also maintains the other two positions, or offices of the Godhead. It should not be hard to understand, for most of us hold many offices in our life. We are the father of our children, yet the son of our Father, and also the husband of our wife and bride. And of course the intellect of each of our souls is our spirit. There is only one God with different offices, and He is the Lord of our lives.

John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

This same Christ came in the form of flesh man, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered and died on the cross, and arose on the third day. Then forty days later was witnessed by many as He arose into heaven to be our advocates at the throne of God. Jesus Christ shall return at the seventh and last trump, and that is a promise that He shall keep, yet prior to that seventh trump, there is a sixth trump that also sounds, and at the sixth trump the false Christ shall come and deceive many. The warning is given to our generation in Revelation 9:12-21, where John is told by our Lord Jesus Christ to write this warning down for those living at that time. Men of God of other generations have tried to make sense of this book of Revelation, but it was to be understood by those living and witnessing the events taking place before their eyes. The "one world system" is here now, and it will stay until that false Christ come to deceive the world first. Though the system is political now, as recorded in Revelation 13:1-5 this political beast will receive "a deadly wound", and the system will become religious, with the dragon Satan ruling over it.

When you are aware of the false Christ, then you can make this prayer as David did, but if you close your eyes to that fact, you will be taken in by the false god of all false gods that is coming soon.

Psalms 86:9 "All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship before Thee, O Lord; And shall glorify Thy name."

Again, this is setting a time sequence that we must be fully aware of. For before all the nations will come and worship before our Lord Jesus Christ, that false Christ will come, and the one world religious government and those under it will worship the false christ Satan. The seven trumpets are given in order, and the sixth sounds before the seventh. The false comes at the sixth, and the true Christ, Jesus Christ comes at the seventh trumpet. At the coming of the Lord and the end of this earth age of flesh man comes, all souls will be "changed" from their flesh bodies, into their spiritual incorruptible bodies for that Millennium age of Jesus Christ's thousand year reign on this earth.

I Corinthians 15:51-52 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed," [51] "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

#2837 in the Strong's Concordance, "sleep" is "koimao", and it is not just to relax or put to slumber, but to decease, to be dead permanently. This change from our physical flesh body to the new spiritual incorrupt bodies comes at the sounding of the seventh trump, the last trumpet that sound, and they this time of flesh man is over and done with. This is at the seventh trumpet, the time that our Lord Jesus Christ comes to set up His kingdom right here on earth, and every knee will see him and know He is the Christ, and worship Him. The thousand year kingdom will end at judgment day, and then those that did not receive their rewards at the seventh trump will be judged by their works only done during that thousand year reign of our Lord.

Then comes the great white throne judgment as recorded in Revelation 20:11-14. It is at the time of Christ's return on earth that all souls alive on this earth will see the Lord and know that they have worshipped the false Christ. All that is except those sealed with the truth of God's word in their minds, that held true to the Lord until that seventh trumpet sounded. So this verse happens first in that Millennium age. Then every knee shall bow to Almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let our heavenly Father know of your love for Him, and that love must have action attached to it. As you tell Him that you love Him, and Study his Word, He becomes more real to you and your faith will grow in Him. Then you will see our Lord's blessings flowing your way.

Psalms 86:10 "For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone."

Psalms 86:11 "Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: Unite my heart to fear Thy name."

The unity that comes when you know and come to rely on that sacred name of Almighty God, YHVH, that we are tought through His Word. Learn that name, for in the Hebrew text of Exodus 3:14 God presents himself as " `ehyeh 'asher 'ehyeth"; in the English translation, "I AM THAT I AM". "And God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM:" and He said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, `I AM hath sent me unto you.' "

When you know God's plan for this earth age, and the times that you live in, you just don't get in His way when those things prophesied are taking place before your eyes.

Psalms 86:12 "I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: And I will glorify thy name for evermore."

Psalms 86:13 "For great is Thy mercy toward me: And Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell."

This word for "hell" should be translated "grave", for your soul is not going into the grave. Though they lay a dead flesh body in the ground, or at time of cremation, that soul went instantly to be with the Father at death. Remember that we are addressing your soul in this chapter, not a flesh body. God has released each of our souls from the threat of that tomb of the grave. Just as Jesus Christ arose from the grave, so shall your soul at the time of your death. Jesus told us in Matthew 10:28; "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him Which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Sure mankind can kill this flesh body that our soul lives in, but only our heavenly Father can cause your soul to perish in hell fire. That is where our fear, or respect should rest.

Psalms 86:14 "O God, the proud are risen against me, And the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; And have not set Thee before them."

Those that do not know the Lord may mock you, as they did David.

Psalms 86:15 "But Thou, O Lord, art a GOD full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth."

Our heavenly Father is gracious and longsuffering in mercy and truth, for think of all the times you have come to Him in repentance and confession, and each time He has waited and forgiven you. He will continue to forgive you each time you repent when you fall short of His Word or Way.

Psalms 86:16 "O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; Give Thy strength unto Thy servant, And save the son of Thine handmaid."

"Thine handmaid" is our Lord Jesus Christ's bride. She is that portion of Israel that is His election.

Psalms 86:17 "Shew me a token for good; That they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: Because Thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me."

This is speaking of that time when you are called up to give account of yourself before their councils, as recorded in Mark 13:9-11. "...But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought before hand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost [Spirit]."

Our Lord will "holpen" each of us, which is to protect and care for us in those time when we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, and remain in His will. It just takes a little help from our Lord to overcome any problem.

l that seventh trumpet sounded.
