Jeremiah Chapter 31

"Restoration, Blessings and Judgment."

This Bible Study is written by Roger Christopherson, and it's transcription/ location is provided by http://www.theseason.org

Jeremiah 31:1 "At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people."'

When Jesus Christ returns to set up His kingdom, He will be the Lord of All of His people, of all Israel and the ethnos [other races]. Our God is the God of people, and this refers to the end time. Note; "at the same time", for this time is "the latter days", taken from Jeremiah 30:24. At that time you will all understand that I will be the God of all families of Israel and they shall be My people.

Jeremiah 31:2 "Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest."

Rest means to Sabbath, and God is that rest. In Revelation 12:13, 14 we see that the woman ran into the wilderness to escape the false messiah in the end ties, the wings of the eagle carries them to that safe place. "And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child."

Revelation 12:14 "And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent."

Jeremiah is referring to that time.

Jeremiah 31:3 "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

This "everlasting love" is a covenant that God has made with His children, and this is direct to all those that Love Him. We can be grateful to the Heavenly Father for all those times that He as removed the obstacles out to our path.

Jeremiah 31:4 "Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry."

This would be better translated "again I will rebuild thee," for this is aimed at His bride. That bride of God, or Jesus Christ is His elect, His virgin bride that has remained true to Him the entire time that Satan the Antichrist has his reign on this earth. This time is coming very shortly, and God elect are all those that have the seal, or Word of God in their foreheads, which is to say their minds. Those virgins of Israel include even the Gentiles that have the seal of God in their foreheads, which are grafted it where the old were cut away.

Paul said in II Corinthians 11:3 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."

Paul did not want us to be beguiled by Satan the serpent when he comes to this earth, disguised as an angel of light. God's elect are all those that have a destiny, especially in our generation. We live in the time when we can know and see the events of the prophecies of the entire Bible take place before our eyes. Those events will consummate the end of this earth age, the age of flesh and blood.

We will see the return of the true messiah at the Second Advent. When you know the seven signs and the signs and events that will take place in the time of the end, you will not be take by the false messiah, but you will be in the field working for the true Christ.

Ezekiel 44:12, 13 "Because they minister unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel [Christian nations] to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up Mine hand against them, saith the Lord God, and they shall bear their iniquity." [12] "And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto Me, nor to come near to any of My holy things, in the most holy place; but the shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed."

Only God's elect, called the "Zadok" in the Hebrew language can approach Christ in that thousand year Millennium age.

Jeremiah 31:5 "Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things."

"Samaria" is watch mountain, and that is where the ten tribes were, the forefathers of the Christian nations, before they were scattered. This is saying that when you plant and earn a prophet, you will enjoy what you have planted and what you have earned. The Kenites will not be there to rip you off through any of the tricks of usury, or taxation.

Jeremiah 31:6 "For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God."

This is the Millennium age, and at that time the Lord our God will be in Zion, and that is where you go to worship Him. Mount Zion is the same hill that Satan, the "son of perdition will place his throne on, when he declares himself to be God. That act or declaration is called the "abomination of desolation" by Christ in Matthew 24:15; "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso ever readeth, let him understand:)" Jesus reference is to Daniel 9:27.

Paul spoke of this place of Mount Zion also in II Thessalonians 2:3, 4; "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,"

II Thessalonians 2:4 "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." The elect of God are all those that know in their minds that Satan will sit on that thrown in the temple which is on Mount Zion, before the return of Christ, and they are not deceived into worshipping the false Christ who is Satan, the "son of perdition".

Ephraim is used here because it is the largest of the tribes that went into captivity, and Ephraim, the son of Joseph is the person that Jacob passed the blessing of the everlasting covenant of Abraham on to, in Genesis 48:20; "And he blessed them that day, saying, "In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh:' "and he set Ephraim before Manasseh."

To this day Ephraim and Manasseh still don't know who they are, following the scattering in 722 B.C.

Jeremiah 31:7 "For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel."

When Jacob is used, it is in reference to the entire natural seed of all the tribes. This is aimed at all those that have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, that love Him and believe on His name. They are the ones that will not be fooled by the Antichrist, and will shout with gladness, "Save Thy People, the remnant of Israel." This includes all those, the that have the eyes to see and understand His Word.

Jeremiah 31:8 "Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither."

The "north country" is where they went over the Caucasus mountains, to be identified even today as "Caucasians".

When Jesus said, "woe to those with child," and that reference was to the day that He returns, and the child was an indication of unfaithfulness as a virgin bride.

In this situation Jesus Christ has returned, and we are in that restored state of the Millennium age. What is stated here is that even those that were deceived by Satan in this flesh age, will have the opportunity to be taught, as is stated in Ezekiel 44:23, 24 and then at the end of the thousand years they will be judged according to their works only. Grace is offered only in the dispensation we are in now, and shortly that dispensation of grace will be over. Grace is where by believeing in Jesus Christ, and through faith in Him you repent in His name, and God the father accepts your faith in the finished work of Christ as the payment for you sins.

Ezekiel 44:23 "And they [the elect, or Zadok] shall teach My People the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean."

I hope you caught the picture here, the elect will not be sitting around on some cloud, when the end of this age comes, but they will be doing some strict teaching and discipline. When there is a violation of God's laws, then they, the elect which is the Zadok, will be doing the judging. Their will be no crooked judges in that day that grow fat over bribes and pay offs. We see in the next verse who you will be teaching in the Millennium age.

Ezekiel 44:25 "And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves."

If you have a friend that you want to teach, this age is the age to teach them. In the Millennium age or Lord will only allow His Zadok to approach their immediate family members, to teach and discipline. In the end, the books are opened and God will do the final judging. Then if there works don't measure up, they will enter into the lake of fire. The dead in the Millennium age, are those that are in their incorruptible body, the body that doesn't age, but that spiritual body has not received the immortality of their soul.

Revelation 20:12 "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those books, according to their works."

The books are used to record all the works and deeds of the spiritual dead at the end of the Millennium age, while only the names of the saved are recorded in the book of life. The saved or elect received their rewards and eternal soul at the beginning of the Millennium age, while those that fell for the Antichrist had to wait until the end of the Millennium age, and then be judged by their works only. They will be judged by their discipline to God's Word and their love for God, and their works will be the fruits of their spiritual condition.

There will be no handicapped at this time, for the flesh will be gone, and all people will have full understanding. Those aborted souls of unborn infants of this flesh age will stand in innocence in that age, for God loves His children, and those responsible for the taking of that life simply must answer for the taking of the life. You can buy off an entire government in the flesh age, and use the corruption of the flesh mind to condone murder, and call it by another name, however, in the Millennium age, you will face that murdered soul and give answer. However their is mercy at the cross now, in repentance in Jesus name.

This is not talking about a second chance, for there is no second chance. Most of what is taught in the church houses of today, those people haven't even had a first chance. Friend, if you have fixed in your mind that you are going to fly when the first messiah comes, you are a goner from the start. Those that teach such a thing are teaching the traditions of men.

Ezekiel 44:24 "And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my Sabbaths."

Jeremiah 31:9 "They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn."

God is saying that He will lead you with favors if you will trust Him. It is important that you hang on to the statement, "I am the father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first born." God is the Father to all the tribes of Israel, as well as those grafted in to Israel by their repentance and belief in Jesus Christ. When Jacob placed his right hand on the head of Ephraim, as we read in Genesis 48:20, he made the tribe of Ephraim gave the rights of the firstborn of the Abrahamic Covenant to Ephraim, not Judah or any part of the Jews, as is taught today in Kenite tradition, and passed on through most Christian denominations.

Genesis 49:9 "Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?"

Genesis 49:10 "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be."

God gave Judah the right to rule and make laws, and from the throne of England, you can trace the line of kingship all the way back to Judah. This is also common in all the other blood lines for Spain, France, and the others, including the king lines of Russia.

Being of Ephraim today is not necessarily by birth, but it is by your free will choice in the living God. For from Ephraim and Manasseh will come the pouring out of God's Word in the end times for the people to return to the living God. The "rivers of waters" are the river spoken of in Ezekiel, that in the Millennium age flows out from the throne of God and feeds and waters the peoples on both sides. These waters are given by the Spirit of God, and the water that flows is the understanding of the Word of God.

The path, or way spoken of is Jesus Christ the Word of God. Christ is the way the truth and the life, and the only way to be on that path, is to have the water that flows from the Spirit of God. When you get into the Word of God, and understand it all, you never thirst for water again, for knowledge, because the entire plan of God is there and you will see where Christ is the center of that Word from beginning to end. Though this is describing the time of the Millennium age, we have the water that we can take of today, by just taking it. We drink of that water, when we take Jesus Christ into our heart and mind by faith and believe in Him.

Jeremiah 31:10 "Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock."

This has not happened yet, but it shall happen. We live in a generation today where the Word of God can be carried around the world as it is spoken. The television waves reach even the most remote areas from the arctic, to the jungles of Africa. The Word is spread by the gifted teachers, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God. When the time comes at the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet, the gathering will take place and the separation will end. Christ will gather His entire flock to Himself, for He is the Good Shepherd that knows His flock.

Jeremiah 31:11 "For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he."

Jacob is the natural seed, and Israel will be ransomed by Christ from the law, sin, and Satan himself. The law is not bad, but it condemns us when we sin. Both sin and Satan himself are supernatural, has power over us, but Jesus Christ has redeemed us through His death and resurrection. His blood paid the full price for all of our sins, however that blood is only available when you repent to our Heavenly Father in Jesus name, and take that salvation of forgiveness by faith. Then the Spirit of God will make that river of living waters flow through your heart and mind to give you understanding.

Jeremiah 31:12 "Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all."

At the return of Jesus Christ, all of his elect will be filled with the overflowing love of our Heavenly Father. All of our needs and desires will be me, and there will be no sorrow any more, never again for those that love Him. Friend, this is going to happen very shortly, just a matter a months or a few years, but in our generation. All of these beautiful promises are something you can count on. When you fill your mind with these words, the image of the Antichrist and his system just doesn't look appealing. We know that shortly God will cleans this evil world for all impurities, both physical and spiritual, but today we can reach out and take the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are offered to each of us, and be filled with them.

Jeremiah 31:13 "Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow."

Again the virgin remains the same, the one that is not taken by the first false Christ, but waits in the field working until the True Christ returns. It is the man or woman that has the seal, or Word of God fixed in their mind, and cannot be deceived by the Antichrist. That person is called "God's elect".

At the coming of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will turn all sorrows into joy, and comfort them. He will take those that feel like they are nobody, and make them into somebody important in His kingdom. It is time to come out of the darkness of this world, and into the light of our Father's Word.

Jeremiah 31:14 "And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD."

God is going to so saturate the minds of the souls of the priests in the Millennium age, that the priests will teach the full truths of God's Word that every last bit of it will be understood by the listener. When that word comes to the hearing and understanding of God's people, they will be fully satisfied with the goodness that God has given them. That word will give them peace of mind, and it will not be off in some cloud, but here on earth, with God in control.

Jeremiah 31:15 "Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."

"Ramah" in the Hebrew means "High place", and Rahel is Rachel the wife of Jacob. Rachel is the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, the two favored children of the favored wife of Jacob. God is telling Rachel not to weep, because I am in control. You may have though her children was lost, but God knows were every soul of her offspring is. There is much sorrow today, and many mothers weep for their sons and daughters. However God is letting you know that the time is coming when all things will be made right, and all evil is removed. Only God can straighten out the mess that the world is binding itself to today. That time is not far away today in our generation.

Jeremiah 31:16 "Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy."

God is promising Rachel that He is going to take care of each of her children, and He will bring them back, and love them. This is referring to the time of the Millennium age, and the teaching and discipline that each spiritually dead soul will receive. God is telling Rachel not to cry, for the work that has been done will not all be in vain. Though God scattered them through out the world, He will bring them back.

Remember that you can take part in this right today, simply by telling Him of your love for Him, and that you want to be used by Him as His servant. What ever you do for Christ will be well rewarded.

Jeremiah 31:17 "And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border."

The "hope in the end," comes at the end of this earth age. Then the Millennium temple will be rebuilt, and all of Israel and God's elect will return to worship there. There will be true and lasting peace and prosperity then.

Jeremiah 31:18 "I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God."

God has heard the larger of the tribes praying. The term "bullock unaccustomed to the yoke", is another expression for "Biblically illiterate". They are saying to God, I don't know what you want of me, Lord, I have never trained myself in thy Word. However when I turn back to you, train me and use me anyway You desire. This is a good prayer, and God will hear this type of a prayer, and bless it.

We find out what we are to do, and how to do it from God's Word. The more you study it, the better your understanding of how you can be used of God. What you are to do and say, and what you are not. God told us all things in His Word that we are to know. This event has not come to pass yet, but the cry of repentance is within this verse.

Jeremiah 31:19 "Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth."

Ephraim is saying, I may have been untrained, and uninstructed, but when I turned back and repented. "I smote upon my thigh", is an act that shows indignation for what you have done. When you act from your youth, you do things and say things without thinking. You act by impulse, and suffer the shame of your actions later. In this generation many that do love the Lord will be deceived into worshipping Antichrist, and later in the Millennium age they will see the reproach this has brought upon them, in their ignorance of God's Word, and turn back to Him. Their ignorance was brought on them by their instruction from their pastor, who also in ignorance taught them tradition instead of God's Word.

This is a form of protection of their free will, and everyone will answer for their own actions. Where the person is ignorant of his actions, the teaching will come in the Millennium age, and when the pastor acted in ignorance he also will be judged on what he knew in his mind. You will have the choice to chose whether you accept or reject our Heavenly Father, and His Son in this earth age of the flesh, by faith; or by works in the next age. What matters is what you know and what you did with that knowledge. Only the individual can make a stand, and turn to God of his own accord, through repentance, and then you will be instructed. This is a promise from God.

Jeremiah 31:20 "Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD"

The answer to both of these questions is yes. God is saying that even when He spake against Ephraim, and the ten tribes of the house of Ephraim, and scattered them, God heart was still troubled for Ephraim. God has emotions, and they were stirred against them when the drifted off into all forms of idolatry, but any time anyone of those children returns to God, He will surely have mercy on that individual. This is not speaking on a national sense but to the individual. God is speaking directly to you here, and telling you that He hears your every word. When you repent for your sins, He will have mercy on you.

Jeremiah 31:21 "Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities."

When you place the way marks, and the high heaps, which are the prophecies and events marked in God's Word to warn us of the times we live in. To God's elect they let us know exactly what to expect, and there is no surprise when we see things coming to pass. Remember that this "O virgin" of Israel is the elect who are sealed in their mind, and they know that we are not going anywhere, but will be here with our spiritual armor on and in place, ready to stand against the fiery darts of Satan, as recorded in Ephesians 6:10-20.

God is saying that as you are scattered, set these way marks so you can find your way back home. Christ is the way back home, and when the confusion comes upon the earth of the Antichrist's system, be prepared with certain facts that you can go to for conformation of the times. This verse carries over from the last verse, and it is aimed at knowing your identity. He is saying, if necessary, make huge mounds to find your way.

Jeremiah 31:22 " How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man."

This is saying that the bride herself will see the bride groom, The bride is the bride of Christ, and the groom is Christ. We are the true bride, waiting for the true husband returns to take His bride. This is the spiritual sense our waiting patiently for the second coming, and not falling back to accept that false Christ first.

What some of the scholars say this verse means is that the very weakest of them will be far stronger then the enemy. However I tend to think that a new thing has happened, and the spouse gets as close to the husband as she can. It means that everyone gets as close to God as they could, even as a belt around Him. This is were the elect courts God Himself.

Jeremiah 31:23 "Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness."

When our lord Jesus Christ returns to claim his own, and the cities and towns are laid out, God's word will be the guide for what is done and said. Even to the building of the temple and the drawing of the boundaries. The book of Ezekiel, 40-48 gives us the dimensions of the temple and the area for the individual tribes. After the city is cleansed, the blueprint for the building of the temple is given in Ezekiel 40.

Friend this speech spoken of here is a speech that has no confusion in any tongue. It is the speech spoken of in Acts 2 where all men will hear and understand as it were in their own language and dialect. That example of the tongue is spoken of in Mark 13:11; "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost." This is the true tongues of the Holy Spirit and it needs no interpreter.

The prophet Joel tells us in Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, you young men shall see visions." The speech of the Millennium age will be the speech of the Holy Spirit, as it was before the tower of Babel when the Spirit of God confused the understanding of speech of all men, and scattered them. This is the evidence that the speech is from the Spirit of God.

Jeremiah 31:24 "And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks."

Husbandmen are farmers, and "those that go forth with flocks" are shepherds.

Jeremiah 31:25 "For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul."

In that Millennium age God will restore every soul to a healthy thinking, well reasoning mind, and spiritual body for that thousand year period. There will be no physical pain, for we will not be in the flesh body. What a time to look forward to. it is referring to happiness within your soul.

We can have that peace of mind today, and understanding when we yield our minds and souls to Him in our repentance in Jesus name. Jesus said in Matthew 10:28-30 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." [28] "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto you souls." [29] "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." [30]

Friend, you don't have to wait for the Millennium age to find that peace and rest from your soul, for Christ is waiting to take that load off your shoulders and make your burdens light. It is for you to make the decision of your own free will.

Jeremiah 31:26 "Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me."

This was a true vision given by God to Jeremiah to view into the future, and let us know what we shall see in the very near future.

Jeremiah 31:27 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast."

God is promising the House of Israel, the Christian nations; and the House of Judah, which is Judah, with Benjamin, that He will restore back to them all that they have lost in this earth age. Notice how God is handling the house of Israel and the house Judah separately here, and they will remain separate until the His return and the Millennium kingdom is established.

This has not come to pass yet, but the time will come when God's Word will come to life in the minds of all of His children.

Jeremiah 31:28 "And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD."

You can count on this. What this has to do with is total and complete free will. God does not tare someone down unless they need it, that is His way of getting them under control. When that does happen in your life, it means that God has a definite purpose in your life, that you are not fulfilling. You are torn down, and destroyed because you are not in His Word, nor listening to Him. God will get your attention while he watches over you. If He has to let you go all the way to the bottom of the gutter, then He will pick you up, and start the rebuilding and planting of His Word in you, one verse at a time. At some point you will come to your senses and see that you are lost.

When He does deal with you and chastise you, it means that He loves you enough to have you stand corrected. When you see that correction that has come in your life, that is the time to thank Him. He will bless you for it.

Jeremiah 31:29 "In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge."

There is a time coming, in the Millennium age when the fathers will no more be blamed for the sins of the children. Many times today we see the defense in court is that the parents didn't do this or that, or the blame is on economic circumstances of the parents. In the Millennium age all souls will be of full mental strength, and all souls will be mature. God doesn't operate that way to have another answer for your sins, you answer for them yourself.

Jeremiah 31:30 "But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge."

In that day, you will be charged only for what you do, and not for another's. You will not be able to blame another for your sins. Though you have been deceived out of everything you have, it is still your fault because if you were doing it God's way, you would not even give them the chance. Learn from your faults and set the way marks so it won't happen again. A little knowledge is a good thing, and that is why God allows you to have only what you can take care of.

Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:"

Israel is always named first, for the blessing is with Israel. We see both houses named here together.

Jeremiah 31:32 "Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:"

God is remind us that He will stick buy us always, and He uses the term, "I was an husband unto them" to let us know he will continue to provide for us. God spoiled them in the desert when He fed manna and quill, and brought water out of the rock. They had a light by night to guide them and a cloud by day to shield them from the sun. God is saying that He did His part, and they broke the covenant.

Jeremiah 31:33 "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

This happens in the future, and happens on the day of atonement, the day that Christ will return to make these things come to pass.

Jeremiah 31:34 "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

This is direct to those that do repent to the Father for the sins they have committed. In that day following the changing of all souls out of their flesh bodies. It is when the earth is cleansed of all evil. Then God will place in the minds of all soul the mind of Christ, and all souls will will be taught to do right. No one will have to ask his neighbor what is right or wrong, for all will know the will of God, and wish to do it. This time is not in the flesh age. Though they know it in mind, they will need discipline to keep their spiritual body in tune with their minds.

Jeremiah 31:35 "Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:"

What God is saying here; as long as the sun comes up to shine in the morning, and you can see the moon and stars at night:

Jeremiah 31:36 "If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever."

...and the natural laws of God are in existence, then you will know that the seed of Israel shall be a nation before Me. This is another way of saying that Israel will always exist into all eternity. The ordinances are the laws of Gravity that holds us to the earth, and the magnetism that holds even the atomic elements together that everything is made of. They are the ordinances that cause water to turn to steam at a certain temperature, and cause ice to form 32o F.

This is a promise to you and I that He will never leave you or forsake you. Be comforted that what He says will come to pass. God is giving you a sign that you see every day, that His Word is true and lasting. The sun will be there, and when you drop your keys, and stoop to pick them up, that is also an ordinance sign that God is there with you.

Jeremiah 31:37 "Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD."

There is no way that you can measure all the heavens, for with our telescopes we can only see a very small portion of only our system. We can measure even a few miles into the earth, but the earth is thousands of miles deep, and there is no way man can go to the depths of the earth. God is giving us another form of assurance that He will not cast us off. God's love for us is eternal and without bounds.

In the prior verse it was with things that we see and can verify, and here it is with things that are beyond our intelligence. The point is still the same that God's love for each of us reaches far beyond our imagination, and that should give comfort to each of us.

Jeremiah 31:38 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner."

The city is Jerusalem, and it is God favorite place in the universe. The temple and the gates shall be restored, and the dimensions are given in Ezekiel 40.

Jeremiah 31:39 "And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath."

Jeremiah 31:40 "And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever."

When the holy Jerusalem is rebuilt in the Millennium age, it shall be restored exactly as God has written in His Word. The Temple and walls with it's gates will stand eternally from that day forth. What we are given here is a aerial view of the Mount Zion area, with Jerusalem and the surrounding area.

What this is saying is that at this time, hell and its ashes are going to be covered over. This will be holy ground unto the Lord forever. This is what Revelation 21:1 is talking about.

Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."

Revelation 21:2 "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God."

My Friend, how in the world could you not want to be part of the awesome setting, and God loved you so much that He shed the blood of His only Son that you could be part of the New Jerusalem. If you are not part of it, it means that you won't even exist, not even in the minds of your loved ones that are there. Why would you ever reject such a gift? It is there for your taking, by your own free will.
