This is a Psalm given to the sons of Korah, those that live by grace, the grace of our heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. Korah went against Moses in the wilderness and by Divine judgment was killed, but trusted in Father and lived their lives by the grace of God. Grace is all of God's riches given to those that live by grace, at our Lord Jesus Christ's expense. Our fullness in life from God comes because of the shed blood of Jesus at the cross of Calvary. To them that live by grace, this chapter announces an Enigma, a riddle or something that is hard to understand, and then gives the solution which is the Incarnation and work of our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This chapter them focuses on the need for Redemption, whether in Moses day or today in these end times.

Psalms 49:1 "Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:"

Father is telling all the people of the earth to listen to what this chapter says and follow it in your lives. This takes in everyone, and takes in our generation in a prophetic sense. It focuses on our salvation through Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

Psalms 49:2 "Both low and high, Rich and poor, together."

There are no exceptions to who this chapter is directed to.

Psalms 49:3 "My mouth shall speak of wisdom; And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding."

The prophet is going to declare something very wise, and we are to pay attention to it. The words about to be spoken are for you understanding personally. It is directed to every person on the face of the earth. The purpose is to give you a better quality of life.

Psalms 49:4 "I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp."

We are now going to have a parable presented to us, and this word "dark" should read "deep" from the Hebrew text. "I will open this deep saying on the harp." This parable will go in deep thought, so don't plan on reading it like a story book. He told us in verse three to stop and meditate on the parable and ask Father to give you understanding of this deep parable played on David's harp.

Psalms 49:5 "Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?"

The parable is telling us that in these days of evil, we should not fear when things are not going right around us, and there is all kinds of iniquity or sin going on in front of us. This verse goes all the way back to Genesis 3:15, the prophecy when our Lord Jesus Christ would be wounded and killed by the sons of Satan; and those nails were driven through his hands and feet.

Genesis 3:15 "And I [God] will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman [Eve], and between thy [Satan's] seed [the Kenites], and her Seed [Jesus Christ]; It [added by the translators=Christ] shall bruise thy [Satan's] head, and thou [Satan] shalt bruise His [Jesus'] heal."

Our Heavenly Father let us know way back in the beginning that His son would pay the price for your and my Redemption. Because of that fall in the first earth age, many souls fell away from God, and this earth age of the flesh is Fathers way of bringing back all souls to Him. Those that will see the redeeming work on the cross, and seek forgiveness through the blood of Christ. Our heavenly Father loves all his children, but it is their choice to come to Him or not. Father cares for all His children, and it doesn't matter what you have done to fall away, there is love and forgiveness at the cross of Christ.

Psalms 49:6 "They that trust in their wealth, And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;"

This is to say, to take all the valuable and rich things of this earth age;

Psalms 49:7 "None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him:"

No matter what wealth you have, even to have the wealth of the richest men in the world, you can not buy the redemption of your brother's soul. There simply is not a price put on a soul, for God created everything and He owns everything, yes even the things that you say are yours. Salvation isn't for sale at any price. The price was paid by Jesus at the cross, and it is finished for one and all times. Yet, it is offered to those with eyes to see and ears to hear the truth of God's Word, and in repentance in Jesus name, submit themselves to our heavenly Father.

"In Jesus' name", means that you fully understand why Jesus was born in this earth age in the flesh, suffered at the hands of the Kenites, and died on the cross. You understand that that is no forgiveness from sin apart from the shedding of blood, and that only Christ's blood was the perfect sacrifice for any and all sin. That is the only way, the only path, and the only acceptable avenue to the throne of God for forgiveness from sin. Jesus so loved you and I that he gladly went to the cross to pay the price to bring you back in the fellowship with our heavenly Father.

No, all the wealth in this earth age will not buy the ransom of one soul in this world age of the flesh. Why? The things of this world age simply do not belong to those that posses those things of wealth. God created all things, even your soul, and it all belongs to Him. It all belongs to Him in the first place, so why do you think that you can use something that is not yours to purchase a favor that is not for sale?

Psalms 49:8 "(For the redemption of their soul is precious, And it ceaseth for ever:)"

What this is saying is that the redemption of their soul is to precious, to priceless that you cannot buy it with money. It is to precious to be bought with anything of this world age, and if you put a price on your soul by the value of things of this world, then it will "ceaseth for ever". That is what is referred to as the second death in Revelation 20:14. Your soul will not be redeemed if you place a price on it, and it is a warning to each of us living in our flesh bodies in this earth age of the flesh. Christ made your redemption possible, and only your believing and accepting His Blood for the purchase price can your soul be saved from destruction. Our Father promised it in John 3:16.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him; "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."

If you have had an illusion of other ways to heaven, forget it, for Jesus has told you the only way, and that is to believe in Him and accept that everlasting life. "Everlasting life" means that there will not be a single moment when your soul is not in existence, from the instant of your created soul back in the first earth age, right into the eternity. There is no side trips of resting in the grave as is taught in most churches today, but an unending flow of existence for ever. At the death of these flesh bodies, the flesh goes back to the dust of the earth, and the soul goes instantly to the father that gave it.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God Who gave it."

Your spirit is the intellect of your soul, and where ever your spirit goes, your soul goes also. They are part of each other, for we are not talking about your flesh body here, but your soul. The brain is flesh that controls your flesh body, and when the flesh body dies and turns to the dust of the earth, so does your flesh brain.

Jesus paid the price for everlasting life for your soul body, and it is up to you to receive it through repentance.

Psalms 49:9 "That he should still live for ever, And not see corruption."

This is part of verse seven.

Psalms 49:10 "For he seeth that wise men die, Likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, And leave their wealth to others."

It is not theirs to give, but they in turn leave their wealth to other, and it is passed on. However it all belongs to the the Father.

Psalms 49:11 "Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, And their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names."

This is what they think within their own minds. Men like to name their lands after their own names, their streets and lakes after themselves. The boast of themselves through their land holdings. There is a time coming when governments are not the ones to assign the lands, and it is very shortly, that will be in the eternity.

Psalms 49:12 "Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: He is like the beast that perish."

It simply doesn't matter how go or bad you are, in time you will pass on. Flesh man's body is no different than the beasts of the field. If you have not been redeemed by the blood of Christ, your soul will be returned to nothing just as the beast of the field after the Judgment seat of God at the close of the Millennium age.

Psalms 49:13 "This their way is their folly: Yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah."

It is "folly" to perish, when it is not necessary, for God has offered eternal life to all that will believe on His Son, and repent of their sins. "Selah" He is telling us to stop and think of what has been said to this point. Think of the folly that most people today are following, and don't follow that way. So now we will connect this folly spoken of in verses 11-13 with the fact given in verse 14. We will have the folly explained, for He is saying, stick to facts and stay away from folly.

Psalms 49:14 "Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling."

Sheep don't use forethought for they allow the shepherd to do their thinking for them. Sheep are symbolic of God's people that are misled to the wrong shepherd; they expect some evil force or some object to same them. "Death" or Satan and his realm shall feed on them. So stop and think for a moment, If they are like sheep, and they are misled, then who is feeding them their spiritual food? Death, the devil shall feed on them for he is their shepherd. Why? Those souls have depended on their rapture theory for their salvation, and are not looking to our Lord's return, but to Satan to rapture them away.

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"

The "upright" are the elect, and we are going to rule over them in the morning, the break of the first day of the Millennium age. Those that chase after the rapture theory and other false traditions of men are going to be under God's elect and disciplined for that thousand year period. The subject of this "And their beauty shall be consume in the grave..." goes back to the "folly" of verse 13, those that are following the evil teacher. Though it is folly, they simply do not realize that it is folly. They do what they do in ignorance because they do not have eyes to see and ears to hear the truths from Father's Word. So "their beauty", or those rich things that they though they had from God's Word, wasn't there, because it wasn't written in God's Word, but came from the imaginations of a man. All their beauties are going to be consumed in the grave right along with their decaying flesh body, that is hell [not eternal life] and that is where they are going.

There is only one way that you can be redeemed and that is through the true Word of God, and not by some flowering sayings of a man. Today they run around saying, "all you have to do is love Jesus", That is true, but if you love Him you have to follow His instructions from His Word. Jesus Christ is the Living Word, and you will live by that Word.

Psalms 49:15 "But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: For He shall receive me. Selah."

This "grave" spoken of here is "sheol" and that is hell. There are two sides spoken of in this passage, the side of eternal life, and the side of the grave and hell. One side take instructions only from the Word of God, the other from the instructions of men and their evil theories, such as the rapture doctrine. One way leads to Christ, the other will take you right into the camp of Satan at his arrival. So how many have been taught the book of Psalms? Are you willing to study and seek out the truth, and accept it as it is written, or do you prefer to accept the words from the imaginations of the traditions of men? There is a "Selah" here, stop and think for a moment on what has been said to this point, and consider this parable in depth.

This Selah then is going to connect the fear and folly of the hopeless man, with the hope and wisdom which takes away all fear. This is God's Word that is giving us the instruction as to how to receive that hope and wisdom for it can only come from His Word.

Psalms 49:16 "Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, When the glory of his house is increased;"

When someone becomes rich by ill-gotten gains, those gains are for only a short time here on earth. The reason that the glory of those riches cease, is there is no glory in those riches.

Psalms 49:17 "For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: His glory shall not descend after him."

You just cannot take your riches to the grave, they are taxed away, and wasted by those that inherit those riches.

Psalms 49:18 "Though while he lived he blessed his soul: And men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself."

Sure, you can give to this need and that after you have accumulated your wealth, but in the end, after your death and after all the time of praise is over, what do you have? What does your soul have for the eternity? That's right, NOTHING. ZERO. When you look out for yourself, even in your giving, what you are looking for is praise that comes back to you. That is the reward for your deeds, their praise, and it stays right here in this flesh world after your soul has departed.

Psalms 49:19 "He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light."

So ask yourself, What is this light that they shall never see? Christ is the "Light of the World" they shall never see Christ. Christ is the truth, and they shall never see the truth. Isn't that a sad affair? At least not in this world age. When the Millennium come to earth at Christ's return, if they are saved out of the Millennium age, it will be by their works through that thousand year period only. Revelation 20:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works."

Revelation 20:14-15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

It is time to stop playing religion in Christianity, and make it a reality in your life. There is not much time left to this earth age of the flesh.

Psalms 49:20 "Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, Is like the beasts that perish."

That man that is in honor, is the one that left all the wealth to those many needs of the community, but he understandeth not the precious things of God's Word, he is just like the beast that died in the field and the birds fed on its carcass. He is nothing. So what priorities are you placing in your life, and over your riches? Do you look at those riches as yours, or God's placed in your hands for safe keeping? This is a very serious thing to our Father, for it tells if you respect and give reverence to Him, or if you are out to take the glory for yourself. So the question is; What have you done for God lately? Have you planted any seeds of truth for the Holy Spirit to use in the mind of another? NO you don't cast your pearls before swine, but those you are led to speak to, have you spoken any words of truth?

will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: For He shall receive me. Selah."
