Israel's Redemption is each of our redemption. "To the chief Musician upon Neginah [Smitings]." It refers to God's smitings in this Psalm of David. This will happen when God's jealousy rises to the point of overflowing, and that will take place right here on earth.

Psalms 61:1 "Hear my cry, O God; Attend unto my prayer."

He always does and will hear your prayer.

Psalms 61:2 "Form the end of the earth will cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

Man will never be higher than this Rock for it is the throne of God. Jesus Christ is the Rock that we build our firm foundation on, that can never be moved. A few problems me come from time to time, but while you are on that Rock you will stand.

Psalms 61:3 "For Thou hast been a shelter for me, And a strong tower from the enemy."

Even if the enemy is completely around you, as long as you are on that Rock, God has made promises to you that you can claim for yourself. Our Heavenly Father will protect you, and he will be your strong tower and strength from all your enemies.

Psalms 61:4 "I will abide in Thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of Thy wings, Selah."

Jesus Christ is our Tabernacle, and I will abide in Him for ever, for that is eternal life that we have in Christ. "Covert" is something hidden, and I will trust in those hidden places of God's protective wings. We will be protected from our enemies while under those wings. "Selah" Stop and meditate for a moment on the promise that has just been given to you by Our Heavenly Father. God has said that He will place that wing over us, for our protection. This Selah connects David's confidence with the only true ground we can stand on when we put our trust in God's wings, with the reason for that trust.

Psalms 61:5 "For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows: Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear Thy name."

God always hears our prayers, and because we place our vows in Christ, He has given us that heritage of eternal life, and all the protection that comes with it even now. When you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear, you know what that heritage is; it is our inheritance as given in Ezekiel 44:28 "And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession." This chapter deals with the time of the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom right here on earth. The "Zadok" will now be given an allotment of land, for they have an inheritance, and I am their Inheritance. this is why we have our confidence in our Heavenly Father.

Psalms 61:6 "Thou wilt prolong the king's life: And his years as many generations."

King David has had one of his offspring on the throne all the way down to Queen Elizabeth II of England. Every generation as had a king or queen over God's people. This shall continue until Jesus Christ, of the seed of David return and claims that throne for ever.

Psalms 61:7 "He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him."

This is a promise that we ought to claim every day, He shall abide wit us daily, and He will give His mercy and truth that preserves us all the days of our lives, when we seek His truths. Those things that preserve the king, will be the same thing that preserves you. To preserve is to give protection and keep you from spoiling. David and each of us are to be preserved with truth from God's Word. Fix your trust on Him.

Psalms 61:8 "So will I sing praise unto Thy name for ever, That I may daily perform my vows."

Don't forget to tell our Heavenly Father daily that you love Him. He loves you, and will protect you from all your enemies, when you daily perform your vows. This Psalm as in the entire bible was written to you personally as a promise of His protection to you, and His love to you. Tell Father that you love Him, He is worthy of your praise, and honor for that is the reason that you were created in the first place, to give him praise.

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

Tell Him that you love Him from the bottom of your heart, then stand by to receive His blessings. Be truthful, for He can read the intent of your mind as you think your thoughts. You can't con God.
