THE PSALMS

Chapter 66

"A Psalm or Song of Praise Promised. Trouble Remembered."

We saw in the last chapter in verse four that God blesses those that He chooses; "Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee, That he may dwell in Thy courts: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, even Thy holy Temple." This of course is speaking of the Elect, for the choosing took place back in that first earth age, when those souls made a stand. These of the elect are spoken of as the priests of the Zadok in Ezekiel 44:15, for they shall serve in the very temple of almighty God in the Millennium age of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are the ones that held fast when all the other people, including many Christians will go astray and worship the Antichrist. This will be done in ignorance, for it is written that they will not have the eyes to see nor the ears to hear the truth in these latter days. How many will it be in number? That remains to be seen.

So this chapter takes us into the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom here on earth. This Psalm is titled "Praise Promised", and that it shall be.

Psalms 66:1 "Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:"

Notice that it is addressing "all ye lands". This is covering all the surface of the entire earth. The creation itself will Praise God.

Psalms 66:2 "Sing forth the honour of His name: Make His praise glorious."

Notice that the focus of that honor is to His name, the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to His name YHVH. When you praise His name, the early manuscripts read "celebrate the glory of His praise". God deserves our praise for He created all things.

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

Psalms 66:3 "Say unto God, "How terrible art Thou in Thy works! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee."

This is a very bad translation. "Terrible" in the Strong's Hebrew Dictionary is # 3372; "Yare, a prime root, to revere, to give and be in reverence." The earth and all that is in and on the earth will give reverence to our Lord Jesus Christ at His return. Notice that even those that consider themselves an enemy of Christ, will submit themselves to Him, and give reverence to Him. Paul tells us in Romans 14:11; "For it is written, "As i live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.:" [11] "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." [12]

God will use nature itself to bring them to their knees, as it is described in Ezekiel 38:18-23, and even the fish in the see and the beasts of the seas will see that God is in control. In verse 20; "So that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the face of the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground." This happens to close out this earth age of flesh man. God will use nature itself of cause these things to happen, "with overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire and brimstone." So why will God allow this to happen?

Ezekiel 38:23 "Thus will I magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord."

At the appearance of the coming of Jesus Christ with His heavenly arming coming, every living thing on the face of the earth will submit to Jesus Christ. There will be no war against them, for the awesomeness of all that happens at the close of this earth age will cause all to submit to Jesus Christ, and know that "He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords". So this verse reads:

"How marvelous and awe inspiring are Thou in Thy works!" and when the people sees the magnificent power of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming, it shall be breath-taking to all that see it. At that moment in time, the flesh of this earth age is done away with, as recorded in I Corinthians 15:50-54, and the entire earth is ushered into the thousand year Millennium kingdom of Jesus reign on earth before the final judgment, as recorded in Revelation 20:12-15. No Our Heavenly Father, YHVH does not hold people in fear, but through love and reverence to Him; through His unending love for those that love Him.

Psalms 66:4 "All the earth shall worship Thee, And shall sing unto Thee; They shall sing to Thy name," "Selah".

Here it is again, "They shall sing to Thy Name". Stop and think for a moment; What time are we talking about here when "all the earth shall worship The and sing unto Thee"? There has never been a day in this earth age when all the earth and creatures on it worshipped God. This day is coming and it is not far off now. That day will be at the sounding of the Seventh and last trumpet, when all the flesh of this earth age is done away with, and we will be in our spiritual bodies, as the angels have, for the next thousand years. This time follows the Sixth trumpet, that time when Satan, Lucifer, the fake morning star presents himself in the role of "Antichrist" or "instead of Christ".

Philippians 2:9-11 "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:" [9] "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in the heaven, and things in earth and things under the earth;" [10] "And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." [11]

We look forward to this time when this shall happen, and it is not far away. Then we have "Selah", which means to stop and meditate on what has just been said. This Selah connects what has just been said, to the invitation to come and see that time when all nature will stop and sing to the glory of God, as the Millennium age of Jesus Christ's kingdom will begin. All will sing their praises to Almighty God. No this has not come to pass yet, but it is going to. Now this is the reason for our giving praises to our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus the Christ.

Psalms 66:5 "Come and see the works of God: He is terrible in His doing toward the children of men."

Do you have the eyes to see the work of God in this earth age of flesh man? Can you see the hand of God in moving nations and peoples into place for the final actions of this earth age? Those prophecies have all been written in God's Holy Word, and those with eyes to see and ears to hear with understanding will be ready to make their stand against Satan at his arrival at the sixth trump. Satan's Word is well recorded on each news cast, but you can also see the powerful work of God as He shuts up the heaves from rain, and causes mountains to explode, and the earth to shake, to let us know that He is still in control. The events of the nations of this earth are moving to bring all the prophecies together, getting mankind ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those with eyes to see the truths of the Scripture see the mighty hand of God, and marvel at His Word, and find joy that our Father truly does keep Word so that we can find peace even at these critical times.

God wants you to take a look at history and observe the things and miracles that He has done for His children.

Psalms 66:6 "He turned the sea into dry land: They went through the flood on foot: There did we rejoice in Him."

God parted the Red Sea so that our people could march through the sea on dry land to flee from Egypt. You know that all those that made it through the Red Sea stopped and gave praise for their deliverance. This is giving us a review of those things that Father did for His children.

Psalms 66:7 "He ruleth by His power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah."

It is through His power that He guides His elect, and then His elect in their service to Father brings even His prophecy to come to pass. God does it all as He uses both nature and man to fulfill His prophecy. That is why we can count of all prophecy to come to pass exactly as it is written for He ruleth by His power. He can change minds to accept thing that must be done, and even in the rebellious nature of nations, they are doing what they do to fulfill all Scripture. People power is nothing, just as Satan's power is allowed for the sake of fulfilling all Scripture. In due time, the appointed time known only by the Father, Satan will be throne in the pit for the Millennium age, and he Satan will never have that power again that he enjoys in this age of flesh man. God rules for ever, there is no end.

"Selah", again stop and meditate on what has just been said. This Selah connects the two halves of this chapter by repeating the exhortation of praise to God for His power and works. God knows exactly what is going on the the hidden places of the Kenites, and the plots and planning to set things in motion, as they get ready for their father Satan's coming. Father knows exactly what the leaders of the nations are doing as they sit down at their peace table, yet plot deceit in their minds. One of these leaders committed himself to breaking American's teeth right in their mouths. Khomani of Iran is no longer with us, for God removed him from the scene. In due time, God will bring Iran, right along with Russia and all the others that alley themselves together, and will destroy all of them in the valley of Hamon-gog, as recorded in Ezekiel 39:1-13. God takes note of man's words and removes those that get in the way of His plans and prophecies. God told you and I what all the nations shall do in these end times. God's Word is very precious to those that take the time to study it to follow the events of our day.

"Let not the rebellious exalt themselves." Those that think that they can rebel and cause all sorts of trouble to their neighbors and even on a national scale, are not going to get away with their evil deeds. God protects His children with His love, but He at the same time corrects His enemies with His power.

Psalms 66:8 "O bless our God, ye people, And make the voice of His praise to be heard:"

When you take the time to see what God has done for our people, and in our lives, it becomes a privilege to praise our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Don't hold that praise back, for God is worthy of all the praise that you can give Him.

Psalms 66:9 "Which holdeth our soul in life, And suffereth not our feet to be removed."

God holds you life in His very hand, and He has the power to bless you, and give you all sorts of trouble, by simply removing the wall of protection that He places around you. He can give you a blessed life, or He can end it in a heart beat. Father not only holds your physical life, but He holds your eternal life, and by ruling with His power, He determines whether you have eternal life, or your soul to be vanished like a vapor. God will preserve and protect His own, while at the same time He makes sure the rebellious get all that is coming to them for their wickedness and turning from Him. God's children will live in peace in the eternity, and those that do not have the mind of Christ simply will not exist at that time, not even the memory of them by their loved ones. That is why there will be no tears in the eternity.

These are the end times that we are going into today, and the one world system is a reality today. It will build to the point that this political system will cease to exist, and in its place the world will be set up to receive the false Christ. Why will this happen? Because it is written in His Word, and those that get in the way of that happening will simply be removed. At the same time that Satan rules over the peoples and nations of the earth, God's protective hand will be over those that love and Praise Him. Notice that it is the life of your soul that God will protect, for at the end of this earth age, no flesh will exist. That's right, None.

Psalms 66:10 "For Thou, O God, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried."

Next time you have a little problem that seams insurmountable, stop and think for a moment, God expects you to turn that problem over to Him. Then sit back and see how God straightens out that problem. God tries us to make us stronger in our personal and spiritual lives. God proves us to make you rely on Him for those times when things really get tough for those times ahead, for He doesn't want a hot house lily that will fold when the going gets tough. Expect to be tried and tested, and when it come, sit back and turn it over to the Lord for guidance. God wants his children to know that He is in power, and when you "put on the whole gospel armor of God" of Ephesians 6:10-20, you "can stand against the wiles of the devil". Religion will not hold you up in that day, for it will take all the armor of God. Girding yourself with the truth of righteousness that only comes from His Word: Preparation of your mind and feet with the gospel of peace: Taking on the shield of faith: And putting on that helmet of salvation in your mind, with the sword of the Spirit directing your mind in all that you do and say. God wants men and women that have been tried in the fire and proven that they are soldiers of Jesus Christ in these end times.

Hebrews 12:5-8 "And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, "My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him:" [5] "For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth." [6] "If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?" [7] "But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons." [8]

You put on the armor for one purpose, and that is to go into battle, and we are in the greatest spiritual battle of all times and it will get worse. Put the armor of God on, and expect to enter the battlefield, but our Lord has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you, but will give you a way of escape from any of those tests that He allows you to go through.

Psalms 66:11 "Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins."

God does allow us to get into the world's traps from time to time, and even put a burden on us from time to time. This was true as the Israelites went down into Egypt, as it is today.

Psalms 66:12 "Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; We went through the fire and through the water: But Thou brought us to a wealthy place."

Even though God allowed their slavery, and many trials to take place, He led them through the water, and across the wilderness and brought them into a beautiful place. What God did for His people then is an example of how He will lead and protect us today. God let them into freedom, and don't take the freedoms of our nation for granted, for gave it to us, but if we waste it, He will allow us to do that to ourselves. As you follow the wisdom of God's Word you will be either be blessed or cursed by your own actions, and decisions that you make. God gave us a pattern to follow, and as you adhere to those instruction, you will be blessed or cursed by your own ways. Moses spelled out those blessings and curses in Deuteronomy 28; it is well worth your time to review the blessings and cursing from time to time. If you follow Father's play, you will not be moved; but if you get in Father's way in these end times expect serious things to happen to you.

Psalms 66:13 "I will go into Thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay Thee my vows,"

Though it is used today as giving the tithe, it is referring to the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom when tithes and offerings will be given. Ezekiel 44 goes into the tithes and sacrifices at that time, but there will be no flesh in those days, so it will be in our Lord to Jesus Christ.

Psalms 66:14 "Which my lips have uttered, And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble."

Those vows that I made to you when I was in trouble, I will keep them and hold true to each of them. There are sickness, financial problems and battle field promises made to God in times of trouble, and when God has pulled you through those times of trouble, do you keep those promises you made to Him. God remembers them, each word that you have uttered. This is what is meant here by paying those vows.

Psalms 66:15 "I will offer unto Thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, With the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah."

When you up date this to our time, we no longer off burnt sacrifices of fatlings, or incense of rams, bullocks and goats. Jesus Christ paid the price for all sin once and for all time with His shed blood on the cross. So our sacrifice to God now is our Love to God, though our repentance to Him in Jesus' name. Giving your love to our Heavenly Father is not a sacrifice, but a privilege and a pleasure. God created your soul and all those blessings that you enjoy daily, and it is an honor to tell Him that I love you Lord, I love you Father. Yes, the sacrifice we give today is repentance to the Father or our sins, and coming to Him in the name of the one that paid the price, His Son Jesus the Christ. He died for you and I and all sinners that repent, and He deserves our love and that is the sacrifice that we are to pay to Him.

The "Selah" that is given here means to stop and meditate for a moment on what has just been said. It connects the "come and see" that we read of in verse five with the "come and hear" that we are about to read of in verse sixteen. Do you get it? See and hear, the two things that God's elect will do in the time of the end. Do you have the spiritual eyes to see and the ears to hear the truths of God's Word for these end times. "Come and see the works of God", and if you have the eyes to see, you will see those mighty works as the hand of God is bring the prophetic events of our day to pass. Now we will read; "come and hear, all ye that fear God;" this Selah connects the seeing and the hearing of God's elect. Go back and review verses five through seven of this chapter, as it will all tie in.

Psalms 66:16 "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, And I will declare what He hath done for my soul."

This is saying, If you will listen to me for a moment, I want you to hear what the Father has done for me.

Psalms 66:17 "I cried unto Him with my mouth, And He was extolled with my tongue."

When you praise our Heavenly Father for all his love and mercy, our Father loves that. The purpose of this chapter is that we don't forget to give our Father love and praise for his great mercy to us personally.

Psalms 66:18 "If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear me:"

If I hold sin in my mind, the Lord will not hear me. Did you get that? If you hold sin in your mind, God will not hear your prayers, and your wasting your time praying. One of the greatest sin in most minds is the spirit of unforgiveness. Not only forgiving those those that wronged them, but forgiving themselves of repented sin. Once you have repented of sin, it is over, learn from it, and set a new course for your life. If you can't forgive yourself, than forget about prayer to the Father; for you will still be holding iniquity in your mind. Repent and let those sins go, and forgive yourself also and get that sin out of your mind.

Psalms 66:19 "But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer."

God has listen to David, and has attended to David's request. He will listen to yours also.

Psalms 66:20 "Blessed be God, Which hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me."

"To the chief Musician on Neginoth."

David has relayed to us in this chapter that there is a day coming when every knee shall bow to Almighty God in praise and thanksgiving. This time of praise and thanksgiving is going to happen, but not until the appointed time at the end of this earth age. That time will be at the sounding of the seventh and final trumpet, as recorded there in I Corinthians 15:50-54, when all living on the face of the earth shall be changed into their incorruptible bodies. Then all souls will see and hear with understanding exactly who Jesus Christ is, and every knee shall bow to him upon His return. That is why this chapter has to be titled "Praise Promised"; for until that time, people of this earth age are just to busy making praise to their idols, their jobs, and every other thing that they can stuff in their lives to focus on their creator.

But if you just offer your love to our Heavenly Father, which is your sacrifice to Him, He will hear your prayers and bless you in every corner of your life. As His child, He will hold nothing back from you, for He wants you to have the best in your life. It is there for the taking, and it is all up to you.
